This is a historical play depicting the context of the feudal state of Dai Viet in the early 15th century when the Tran dynasty was in decline, the Ho dynasty founded by Ho Quy Ly took the national name Dai Ngu to continue the great cause.

The play revolves around the character Ho Quy Ly, with his mark in the history of building and defending the country of our people in comprehensively reforming the country in many fields, but due to haste, he made mistakes when the people were not in favor, leading to a tragic ending: The Ho Dynasty quickly collapsed after 7 years (1400 - 1407) of existence, the country was invaded by the Ming (China), and then: "... Is it because of good strategy/ Lack of strategy to keep the people safe/ The ambition of the country was shattered/ The hero held grudges for a thousand years ".

The entire structure of the play from the layout, scenery to music , lighting and actors' performances was creatively expressed by the play's crew through the traditional opera art work revolving around the motif of "the four pillars of the court", but left deep emotions in the hearts of the audience, conveying messages that still have intact historical value as Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan once reminded his generals and soldiers: "Be lenient with the people's strength, a plan that has deep roots and lasting roots" .

That lesson, despite going through many centuries, still has its value in today's era - when all policies and major steps of the nation still need to come from the people's strength, for the people, as Nguyen Trai later said: "The people carry the boat, the people also capsize the boat, the people's strength is like water".
