During a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on October 11, President Zelenskyy thanked Germany for its support of Ukraine in the conflict with Russia, emphasizing that "it is important for us that this support does not diminish next year."
He said he would present his winning plan to Chancellor Scholz, expressing hope the conflict would end "no later than next year, 2025".
"More than any other country in the world , Ukraine wants this war to end quickly and fairly. The war is destroying our country and taking the lives of our people," Zelenskyy said.

In response to the request to maintain aid, Scholz pledged that Germany and its EU allies would send more defense equipment to Ukraine this year, with Germany alone providing 4 billion euros by 2025, and declared that "we will not stop supporting Ukraine."
Scholz said he and the Ukrainian leader had agreed on the need to hold a peace conference with Russian participation, but peace "can only be achieved on the basis of international law."
Zelenskyy then concluded his visit with a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Earlier, President Zelenskyy had appealed for support during a two-day tour of European capitals, including London, Paris, and Rome, as Ukraine faced its third winter in the war with Russia.
The Ukrainian leader is seeking new military and financial aid from European allies amid fears that support will wane if former US President Donald Trump is re-elected next month.
A defense conference between Ukraine and the West, scheduled for October 12 at the US Ramstein Air Base in western Germany, has been postponed after US President Joe Biden canceled his state visit to Germany due to Hurricane Milton.
Germany is the largest provider of military aid to Ukraine after the United States. However, Scholz refused to send Germany's Taurus long-range missile system for fear of escalating tensions between NATO and Russia.
