The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued an official dispatch on organizing fireworks displays to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024).
Accordingly, considering the proposal from the Department of Culture and Sports and the proposal from the City Command regarding the change in the number of fireworks display locations for the April 30th holiday, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Phan Van Mai, agreed to direct that fireworks displays will be held at 5 locations.
Specifically, the high-altitude fireworks display took place in the area near the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Thiem ward, Thu Duc city), featuring 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude fireworks displays, and 10 pyrotechnic displays.
The four low-altitude fireworks display locations include: Thao Dien Villas (Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City) – fireworks will be launched from barges; Van Phuc Urban Area (Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc City); Lot N4-D6 Northwest Industrial Park (Tan An Hoi Commune, Cu Chi District); and Dam Sen Cultural Park (Ward 3, District 11).
Fireworks display time takes place from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on April 30, 2024.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Command to take the lead in contacting the Ministry of National Defense 's Chemical Company No. 21 to order fireworks ammunition, ensuring sufficient supply for the project; and to settle payments according to regulations.
At the same time, the presiding officer will coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports, local authorities, and relevant units to ensure the funding for the fireworks display at one high-altitude location and four low-altitude locations.
In addition, direct subordinate forces to coordinate with relevant forces to ensure absolute safety during the transportation of fireworks, as well as at fireworks display locations and areas where people gather to watch the fireworks.
Ho Chi Minh City Police were assigned to coordinate with the Department of Transport to organize traffic flow in areas where people gather to watch fireworks; clear moorings and temporarily suspend all activities of waterway vehicles in the area around the necessary shooting locations from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 30.
Meanwhile, the Department of Transport, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the City's Youth Volunteer Force, is directing traffic on land and river routes around the fireworks display area; prohibiting vehicles from parking or stopping within 1,000 meters of the fireworks display location.
