TPO - According to the recently agreed plan, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee have decided that the number of fireworks display locations on the occasion of April 30 is 5, a reduction of 11 locations compared to the previous proposal of related units.
Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch on organizing fireworks displays to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024).
Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Department of Culture and Sports ; and the proposal of the City Command on changing the number of fireworks display locations on the occasion of April 30, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai agreed to direct the organization of fireworks display at 5 locations.
The high-altitude fireworks display will take place at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Thiem ward, Thu Duc city), with 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude fireworks, and 10 pyrotechnic displays.
4 low-altitude shooting points include: Thao Dien Villa Area (Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City) - shooting on barges; Van Phuc Urban Area (Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc City); Lot N4-D6 Tay Bac Industrial Park (Tan An Hoi Commune, Cu Chi District); Dam Sen Cultural Park (Ward 3, District 11).
Fireworks display time is from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on April 30, 2024.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Command to preside over and contact the Ministry of National Defense 's Chemical Company 21 to purchase fireworks and ensure artillery shells for implementation; and make payment according to regulations.
At the same time, preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports, localities and relevant units to unify and ensure funding for fireworks displays for 1 high-altitude display point and 4 low-altitude display points.
In addition, direct subordinate forces to coordinate with relevant forces to ensure absolute safety during the transportation of fireworks as well as at fireworks display locations and areas where people gather to watch fireworks.
Ho Chi Minh City Police were assigned to coordinate with the Department of Transport to organize traffic flow in areas where people gather to watch fireworks; clear anchorage and temporarily suspend all activities of waterway vehicles in the area around the necessary shooting locations from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on April 30.
Meanwhile, the Department of Transport coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the City Youth Volunteer Force to divert traffic on roads and rivers around the fireworks display area; vehicles are not allowed to park or stop within 1,000m of the fireworks display location.
