Ho Chi Minh City mobilizes many hospitals and ambulances to serve the 2025 Vesak Festival

On May 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it has synchronously deployed medical assurance plans to serve the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival taking place in the city.

Accordingly, medical facilities in the area are required to arrange adequate human resources, medicines, vehicles and equipment to provide medical care for leaders, delegates and people attending the ceremony. The Department of Health especially emphasizes the preparation of ambulances, mobile emergency teams, and contingencies for emergency situations such as trauma, fire, explosion, mass poisoning or disaster (if any).

At general and specialized hospitals, the Department requires the preparation of beds, personnel, equipment and emergency medicine to be ready to receive and treat delegates if they have health problems. At the same time, disease prevention measures are also deployed synchronously before, during and after the organization of the grand ceremony.

At the Buddhist cultural festival (from April 28 to May 2): Binh Chanh District Hospital, Binh Chanh District Medical Center, 115 Emergency Center and Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control will ensure medical care at the event area.

Welcoming the international delegation (from May 3 to 9): assign the Heart Institute, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, 115 Emergency Center, Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control and Tropical Diseases Hospital to be in charge of medical care at Tan Son Nhat airport. Specifically:

• At the delegates' accommodation: arrange a permanent medical team at the hotels, including 1 doctor and 2 nurses.
• At the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (Le Minh Xuan campus, Binh Chanh district) - where the official ceremony took place: 8 ambulances were arranged with full staff and equipment.

Receiving the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni : arrange an ambulance at Tan Son Nhat airport to accompany the procession from the airport to Vietnam Buddhist Academy and Thanh Tam Pagoda (Binh Chanh).

At the relic worship activity at Thanh Tam Pagoda :

• From May 3 to 6:00 p.m. on May 5 : 8 ambulances will be arranged from 115 Emergency Center (2 ambulances), Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital (2 ambulances), Binh Tan District Hospital, District 11 Hospital, An Binh Hospital, Binh Chanh District (1 ambulance each).
• From May 6 to 6:00 p.m. on May 8 : 8 vehicles will be arranged from the 115 Emergency Center (2 vehicles), Thong Nhat Hospital, Nguyen Trai Hospital, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, An Binh Hospital, Heart Institute, Binh Chanh District (1 vehicle each).

At the relic worshiping activity at Viet Nam Quoc Tu Pagoda (District 10) (from May 4 to 10): mobilized the emergency team of the 115 Emergency Center, along with People's Hospital 115, Van Hanh, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Binh Dan, An Binh and the Heart Institute.

Within the framework of the international Buddhist art performance night at Sa La Theater (Thu Duc City) (May 7): Le Van Viet Hospital, District 4, District 1, Saigon General Hospital and 115 Emergency Center were assigned to take charge of medical care.

At the reception for VIP delegates and heads of international delegations at the Reunification Palace (District 1) , (May 5): arrange medical staff from the 115 Emergency Center, Thong Nhat Hospital, Military Hospital 175, Nguyen Trai, Saigon General Hospital and District 1.

At the relic procession to Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area (Tay Ninh) (May 8): 115 Emergency Center arranged 2 ambulances to accompany the delegation, coordinating with the Medical Department ( Tay Ninh Department of Health) and hospitals in Tay Ninh to receive treatment if needed.

In addition to the activities within the framework of the Vesak Festival, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also said that it has developed a plan to ensure medical care for the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (May 5, 1975 - May 5, 2025), taking place on the morning of May 4 at the Reunification Palace. The Medical Department coordinated with the 115 Emergency Center and District 1 Hospital to arrange ambulances and medical staff on duty to ensure the health and safety of the delegates attending.
