In the context of AI becoming a cutting-edge and influential field, training and equipping students with knowledge about AI has become an urgent task.
Through pilot classes, Ho Chi Minh City hopes to discover and nurture young talents early, gradually forming a quality technology workforce, contributing to sustainable development and breakthroughs in science and technology in the locality.
The training course has 203 students admitted (including 113 high school students, 90 middle school students) from typical schools in the area such as: Gifted High School (VNU-HCM), Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Phu Middle School, Le Quy Don Middle School, Saigon Practice High School...

The training includes 4 classes. 2 classes for secondary school students have the topic " Discover AI with Python", focusing on basic programming knowledge, simple algorithms, small AI application projects... to help students get acquainted with technological thinking.
2 classes for high school students with the topic “Python Programming and Practical Applications”. Students are exposed to AI models such as Machine Learning, data processing, problem-solving thinking, and project presentation skills.
At the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City Lam Dinh Thang congratulated the students selected to attend the AI training course. He hopes that through this training course, the students will become familiar with AI, the core of AI, and from there develop AI projects to serve their studies and daily life. Furthermore, he also hopes that these will be the future buds of the city, especially in the field of information technology.

“In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City is oriented towards science and technology as a new driving force to promote sustainable development and growth. The city has built a strategy for developing artificial intelligence from now until 2030 such as: issuing policies, training human resources, building ecosystems, infrastructure related to AI... Currently, together with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training is also building a standard curriculum framework on AI for application and inclusion in teaching in schools and continuing education ", Mr. Lam Dinh Thang added.
The program is expected to equip high school students with basic and advanced knowledge of AI, creating a community that loves and is passionate about researching and developing AI applications in the near future. The 2025 AI pilot training program will be the premise for replicating the AI training model for high school students throughout Ho Chi Minh City in the following years.
