The robot-versus-robot "battle," titled "Unitree Iron Fist King: Awakening!", will take place in about a month. It's unclear exactly which model of Unitree robot will be used for the match.

The Unitree G1 robot - which stands at 1.32 metres tall - is the most likely candidate for the upcoming boxing match. Another option is the 1.8m tall H1 model.

In the first part of the introductory video, the G1 robot "fights" with humans. The robot gets up quite quickly when knocked down, but compared to its human opponent, it still reacts slower and is not as smooth when performing movements such as dodging attacks and maintaining balance after being hit.

The latter part of the video is a battle between two robots, which seems to be more evenly matched.

G1 Robot vs Human

In January 2025, Unitree released a video demonstrating the human-like dancing abilities of its H1, H1-2, and G1 robots. With the realistic movements in the new dataset of humanoid robots, users can use them to interact more naturally in the real world .

Unitree has worked to improve the robots’ full-body motion control, training them to walk, dance like humans, and even perform some moves like famous athletes or kung fu moves. However, Unitree may still need to continue training the robots to box and make some improvements before the official match takes place.
