Presenting the Consular Acceptance Certificate to the new Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City

On August 21, Deputy Director of the Consular Department Phan Thi Minh Giang presented the Consular Acceptance Certificate to Ms. Alessandra Tognonato, Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director Phan Thi Minh Giang congratulated Ms. Alessandra Tognonato on her new position, believing that with her extensive experience, the new Consul General will make effective and practical contributions to the Vietnam - Italy Strategic Partnership, especially in consular cooperation.

The Deputy Director of the Consular Department affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Consular Department and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs) as well as Vietnamese authorities will always accompany the Consulate General and create favorable conditions for the new Consul General to successfully complete his term of office in Vietnam.

Deputy Director Phan Thi Minh Giang hopes that the two sides will continue to coordinate closely, facilitate exchanges and travel between the two countries and strengthen cooperation in traditional and new fields such as green transformation, digital transformation, science and technology, labor and employment.

For her part, Ms. Alessandra Tognonato thanked Deputy Director Phan Thi Minh Giang for taking the time to receive and present the Consular Acceptance Certificate, and expressed her joy at the good developments in bilateral relations, especially in the economic and cultural fields.

The new Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that during his term, he will continue to promote bilateral cooperation in priority areas such as investment, culture, education and especially consular cooperation in the context of increasing people-to-people exchange and travel between the two countries.
