On July 14, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology , the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, VinUni University and Sacombank to hold a press conference to introduce the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals.
The Forum has been an annual activity since 2018, aiming to promote the intelligence, initiative and responsibility of young Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad, contributing to the country's development, realizing the goals of digital transformation, sustainable development, and international integration.
This year, the Forum took place from July 19 to 21 at VinUni University ( Hanoi ), gathering 201 official delegates and more than 300 observer delegates.
More than 90% of delegates were trained abroad; 62 delegates are working in 20 countries and territories. Among them are 1 Professor, 31 Associate Professors and Assistant Professors, 150 PhDs and experts in key fields such as AI, medical technology, nuclear physics, finance - banking, green economy ...
Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam said: This year's forum has many innovations, focusing on closely connecting academic research and practical development of the country, through practical experience activities, dialogue with businesses and proposing specific policies.
"We expect that these innovations will help the Forum not only be a place for exchanging ideas, but also a bridge between intellectuals, policies, and markets, contributing to bringing initiatives, knowledge, and intellectual content of young Vietnamese intellectuals directly into the country's development flow in the new period," Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam emphasized.
The four main topics discussed by the Forum include: Applying AI and new technology to improve labor productivity; Innovative startups associated with green economy; Adapting to global challenges; and Developing cultural and educational foundations in the new era.
Within the framework of the program, delegates will visit the VinFast Hai Phong factory, Vingroup's innovation ecosystem, Sacombank's green financial ecosystem and attend a seminar on data security, along with meetings with Party and State leaders.
The Forum will also publish a Policy Recommendation Report from the global community of young Vietnamese intellectuals sent to leadership agencies, along with a global young intellectual database and the Forum's proceedings for the 2025–2030 period, with a vision to 2045.
After 5 organizations, the Central Youth Union has built a Global Network of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals with more than 2,000 members, maintaining regular exchange activities, contributing to creating a dynamic, responsible and deeply connected young intellectual community with the country's development.
