On July 14th, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology , the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, VinUni University, and Sacombank, held a press conference to introduce the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals.
The forum is an annual event since 2018, aiming to promote the intellect, initiative, and responsibility of young Vietnamese intellectuals both domestically and internationally, contributing to the country's development, achieving digital transformation goals, sustainable development, and international integration.
This year, the Forum took place from July 19 to 21 at VinUni University ( Hanoi ), bringing together 201 official delegates and over 300 observers.
Over 90% of the delegates received their training abroad; 62 delegates are currently working in 20 countries and territories. This includes 1 Professor, 31 Associate Professors and Assistant Professors, 150 PhDs, and experts in cutting-edge fields such as AI, medical technology, nuclear physics, finance and banking, and green economy .
Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation, said: This year's forum has many innovations, focusing on closely connecting academic research and the practical development of the country through practical experience activities, dialogue with businesses, and specific policy proposals.
"We expect that these innovations will help the Forum become not only a place for exchanging ideas, but also a bridge between intellectuals, policies, and markets, contributing to bringing the initiatives, knowledge, and intellectual contributions of young Vietnamese intellectuals directly into the flow of national development in the new era," Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam emphasized.
The Forum focused on four main thematic areas: Applying AI and new technologies to enhance labor productivity; Innovative entrepreneurship linked to the green economy; Adapting to global challenges; and Developing cultural and educational foundations in the new era.
As part of the program, delegates will visit the VinFast Hai Phong factory, the Vingroup innovation ecosystem, Sacombank's green finance ecosystem, and participate in a seminar on data security, along with meetings with Party and State leaders.
The forum will also publish the Policy Recommendation Report of the global Vietnamese young intellectual community to leading agencies, along with the global young intellectual database and the Forum's proceedings for the period 2025–2030, with a vision to 2045.
After five editions, the Central Committee of the Youth Union has built a global network of young Vietnamese intellectuals with over 2,000 members, maintaining regular exchange activities and contributing to the creation of a dynamic, responsible community of young intellectuals deeply connected to the development of the country.
