NDO - Within the framework of the 8th Conference of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , 12th term, held on the morning of September 24th in Hanoi, delegates discussed and gave opinions on many important orientation contents related to the work of the Youth Union and the youth and children's movement nationwide in the coming period.

The 8th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the 12th Youth Union took place in Hanoi .

In his opening remarks at the Conference, Comrade Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, stated: at the 7th Conference of the 12th term, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Youth Union discussed and basically agreed on the theme for 2025 as "Vietnamese Youth Proud and Confident in Following the Party," linked to the commemoration of major holidays and important events in 2025.

Based on that, the Central Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union has developed and supplemented solutions closely following the Action Program implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, especially the implementation of the annual work theme, the list of 54 major activities in 2025, and the set of criteria for evaluating the work of the Youth Union and youth movements at the provincial level in 2025. According to the draft Program of work of the Youth Union and youth movements in 2025, Youth Union branches nationwide will strive to achieve 12 key targets. Notably, these include attracting 10 million Youth Union members and young people to participate in volunteer activities implemented by the Youth Union and Youth Association; 60% of young people accessing digital capacity building activities organized by the Youth Union and Youth Association; Youth Union members and young people participating in planting 20 million new trees; providing 3 trillion VND in support for young people to borrow capital for starting businesses; and introducing jobs for 600,000 young people. We have supported 600,000 disadvantaged children and introduced 200,000 outstanding Youth Union members to the Party.

Regarding the work of building the Youth Union and expanding the front of solidarity and gathering young people, the draft focuses on organizing confidence votes for leadership and management positions within the Youth Union; effectively implementing the planning, placement, and rotation of cadres within the Youth Union system; and advising Party committees at all levels on the rotation of Youth Union cadres who have exceeded the age limit according to the Youth Union Cadre Regulations.

In addition, the draft also emphasizes the recruitment and management of new members, especially the implementation of electronic membership cards and electronic membership books; building, expanding, and developing effective models for uniting and gathering Vietnamese youth abroad; and reviewing, nurturing, and promoting outstanding young people of ethnic minorities, religious leaders, and exemplary young monks and nuns.
