Responding to the insightful guidance from the Ministry's leadership, Dr. Ngo Anh Tuan, Deputy Director in charge of the Hospital, affirmed that the leadership, employees, and all staff of the Hospital will continue to build upon the achievements of the past years, utilize the Hospital's strengths, and successfully fulfill the goals entrusted by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, as well as patients and the public, in the coming period.
At the ceremony, Dr. Ngo Anh Tuan, along with all the delegates, officials, and employees of the hospital, reminisced about the moments and memories from the hospital's early days to the present.
The Deputy Director in charge of the hospital stated that Hospital 1A, formerly known as the "Center for Rehabilitation of Children with Polio," was established on November 8, 1983. It is now more simply called "Hospital 1A." Over four decades (40 years) of formation and development, with the contributions of many generations, Hospital 1A has successfully fulfilled the political tasks assigned by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Accordingly, in its early years of operation, the hospital had only about 60 staff members and the capacity to serve 60 inpatient beds. Overcoming many difficulties common to the country and the city in terms of economics, development policies, and investment in the healthcare sector, Hospital 1A has always remained a unified and cohesive unit, and together they have overcome ups and downs to become a Grade II hospital with more than 280 staff members, serving over 400 inpatient beds.
Of these, 84% are officials and employees working in specialized fields, directly serving patients. Of the 235 professional staff, over 80% hold professional certificates: including 2 PhDs, 8 Specialists Level II, 15 Masters, 16 Specialists Level I, 24 Doctors, 11 Pharmacists, and 68 Bachelors in other specialties.

When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out nationwide, Hospital 1A actively participated in epidemic control activities: administering Covid-19 vaccines at the hospital and community vaccination points, providing doctors to support Covid-19 treatment at units under the Ministry, and successfully treating more than 100 severe Covid-19 cases at the hospital.
Hospital 1A also collaborated with international organizations such as Project Vietnam Foundation, Children Action, ReSurge International, Surgicorps International, and Heart and Hope to provide free examinations and surgeries for 737 children with cleft lip, cleft palate, and other congenital defects.
