The Chinese Prime Minister affirmed his commitment to promoting economic cooperation and opening up the market to Vietnamese goods, especially high-quality agricultural and aquatic products, during his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
During talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Nanning, Guangxi, China on the afternoon of September 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that both sides need to leverage their geographical advantages and complementarity to promote substantive cooperation in areas for balanced and sustainable development.
He suggested that China expedite the opening of its market to Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products, facilitate the early establishment of Vietnamese trade promotion offices in Chengdu and Haikou, and improve customs clearance efficiency to avoid congestion at border crossings.

Prime Minister Li Qiang affirmed that China has always considered its relationship with Vietnam a priority in its overall neighborly foreign policy. He asserted that China will continue to open its market to Vietnamese goods, especially high-quality agricultural and aquatic products.
China is also further expanding the scale and improving the efficiency of trade through upgrading border infrastructure, coordinating policies, building smart border crossings, and promoting payments in local currency.
Both sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the common understanding between the two General Secretaries on strengthening and further deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, as well as the agreements and results achieved during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to China in June and other high-level visits.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for Chinese businesses to invest and operate in Vietnam, especially for large-scale, high-quality projects with modern technology, representative of China's level of development, and bringing economic and social benefits.
The Prime Minister proposed that both sides strengthen transportation connectivity and border gate infrastructure, study cooperation in planning and constructing several railway lines in northern Vietnam; and enhance the capacity for transporting goods both bilaterally and through third countries.
He suggested that both sides should strive to promote tourism cooperation to recover to pre-Covid-19 levels as soon as possible, coordinate to resolve outstanding issues in some cooperation projects in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks," and accelerate the implementation of China's non-refundable aid to Vietnam.
Prime Minister Li Qiang stated that he has instructed Chinese ministries and agencies to actively engage in discussions with Vietnam to promote specific areas of cooperation and jointly build stable supply chains and production chains.
He stated that the Chinese government would encourage its citizens to travel to Vietnam and support the opening of new air routes between the two countries, as well as promote the implementation of aid projects in social welfare, healthcare, and education in Vietnam. Prime Minister Li Qiang extended his deepest condolences to the families of those who died and offered his sympathies to those injured in the major fire in Hanoi on September 12th.

The two leaders also agreed on the importance of adequately managing disagreements and maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that both sides continue to strictly implement the high-level common understanding and the "Agreement on the Basic Principles Guiding the Resolution of the Maritime Issues between Vietnam and China". Both countries should respect each other's legitimate rights and interests, and resolve disputes and disagreements through peaceful means in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is attending the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning city.
On this occasion, ministries, departments, and localities from both sides organized several activities such as the launching ceremony for the pilot operation of the Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China) scenic area, and the launching ceremony for the pilot construction of the "Huu Nghi Smart Border Gate - Huu Nghi Quan".
