In the chilly weather of the last days of autumn, the story of the teachers of Vinh Khuc Kindergarten (Nghia Tru commune) still warms the hearts of many people. Here, 31 teachers, accounting for nearly 80% of the total number of staff, teachers and employees of the school, share a beautiful action: donating blood to save lives. And the person who lit the fire of love is teacher Le Thi Huong, the school's principal.

The journey of the "sower of love"
Every 21 days, as a habit, teacher Le Thi Huong travels more than 50 km from Hung Yen to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion ( Hanoi ) to donate platelets. There were times when she donated blood on the first day of Tet, when everyone was still gathered around the first meal of the year, she still chose to leave at 5 am to "give a part of her warm blood, so that someone can live another spring".
Sharing about her chance to donate blood, Ms. Huong said: “I started donating blood in 2008 and have been promoting blood donation since I was Secretary of the Youth Union. Now, people understand more about the benefits of donating blood, so it is easier to call for donations. Every time I post a picture of a blood donation on social media, many people text to ask for information and register. One day, after just one session, dozens of people signed up to go with me.”
From that simple thought, Ms. Huong's actions gradually spread. Whenever there was a blood donation program in the locality, she enthusiastically called on colleagues, relatives, and friends to participate. Not stopping at the small school, she also founded the Hung Yen Blood Donation Club, which currently has 176 members regularly donating blood together at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
With her contributions, on November 1, Ms. Huong was honored by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion as one of 180 outstanding platelet donors in 2025.

School of kind hearts
If the blood donation movement at Vinh Khuc Kindergarten is considered a “garden of good deeds”, then Ms. Huong is the one who cultivates that land. For the past 3 years, blood donation has become a strong bond between teachers. 31/40 staff members, teachers and employees in the school have participated many times, including 6 teachers who have persuaded their husbands to donate blood regularly.
Up to now, nearly 300 teachers in the school have voluntarily donated blood, a proud number, demonstrating the sense of responsibility, compassion and love of humanity of the teaching staff here.
Ms. Le Thi Hoi, Vice Principal of the school shared: “Ms. Huong is a shining example and a strong inspiration to us. Since she set an example, the blood donation movement in the school has become more active. Not only teachers but also parents and local people have responded. I myself have donated blood 21 times so far and I always feel joy every time I give.”
As for Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, a teacher of class 4A5, blood donation is considered a part of daily life. Ms. Thuy said: “I have donated blood 19 times. Every time I come back after donating, I feel strangely light and peaceful. Many people ask if I am scared or tired, but in fact, we feel healthier because our spirits are uplifted, the meaning of that action makes us feel more optimistic about life.”

Not only stopping at action, the teachers also consider this a vivid lesson to teach students. In each extracurricular activity, Ms. Huong and her colleagues tell the students about the "pink fairies", who bring love to patients through each drop of blood. That simple story sows the seeds of kindness in the children's souls, so that later they will know how to love, share and live more responsibly with the community.
The blood donation movement at Vinh Khuc Kindergarten is not only a voluntary activity, but has become a cultural beauty, a symbol of love and community spirit of educators . Many people jokingly say, "at Vinh Khuc Kindergarten, teachers not only teach letters but also teach how to live beautifully". Indeed, from their dedication to work to their noble deeds in daily life, the teachers have been affirming the image of exemplary teachers in the new era, not only knowing how to "grow people", but also knowing how to "sow seeds of kindness".
From a pioneer, Ms. Huong has created a group with the same vision. Now, whenever the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion launches a program such as the Spring Festival, Couples Day, or simply when many members have enough time to self-isolate and donate again, the teachers invite each other to rent a car to Hanoi. After each trip, they sit together, share experiences, and encourage each other to stay healthy to continue the journey of charity.

The “red blood drops” of Ms. Huong and her colleagues not only contribute to saving the lives of thousands of patients, but are also a living proof of the spirit of “Living is giving”. In a small school in the countryside of Hung Yen, the blood donation movement is spreading day by day, extending love, lighting up beliefs in human kindness.
And perhaps, it is in the innocent laughter of the students, in the bright eyes of the teachers after each blood donation session, that we see more clearly the message they convey: "One drop of blood given - One life left behind".
