Communication to prevent child marriage for women and ethnic minority students in Nam Giang district

At the seminar, nearly 1,000 female members and ethnic minority students listened to 6 guests from the women's union, local authorities, the education sector and border guards share experiences and measures to prevent child marriage and incestuous marriage in Nam Giang district.

In particular, focusing on oral propaganda as well as dramatization and targeting the main target group of women and girls in the mountainous border communes.

It is known that from 2021 to 2024, Nam Giang district had 51 cases of child marriage, no consanguineous marriage; the rate of child marriage has decreased rapidly each year.

However, this custom still smolders. Therefore, propaganda work to prevent child marriage, incestuous marriage, or eliminate domestic violence, improve women's capacity on gender and gender equality needs to be focused on regularly and continuously.

In particular, Project 8 in Nam Giang is being implemented extensively and vigorously, with the main beneficiaries being women and girls in ethnic minority areas.

The Women's Union of Nam Giang district held a discussion of great significance in the work of eliminating bad customs in ethnic minority areas, thereby joining hands to build a safe and healthy society, helping women and girls have a stable and happy life in their own homes. This is also an activity that the Women's Union of Nam Giang district practically celebrates the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union.
