According to Xinhua News Agency, Chinese President and General Secretary Xi Jinping expressed his pleasure at holding a telephone conversation with General Secretary To Lam at the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China.

In August 2024, General Secretary To Lam paid a state visit to China, where the two sides reached broad common understanding on deepening relations between the two Parties and countries, and jointly promoting the development of the socialist cause. Over the past six months, the two Parties, countries, ministries, departments, and localities have made efforts to implement the cooperation issues discussed, achieving positive progress.

Meanwhile, on CCTV , Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that since the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Communist Party of Vietnam has united and led the entire Vietnamese people to overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving new successes in the cause of building and renewing socialism.

President Xi Jinping expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by Comrade To Lam, the Party, State, and people of Vietnam will welcome and successfully organize the 14th Party Congress, steadfastly moving forward towards Vietnam's goals.

The People's Daily, on January 16th, featured this important event on its front page, stating that General Secretary To Lam expressed Vietnam's commitment to continuing to prioritize the development of Vietnam-China relations in its foreign policy, strengthening strategic exchanges between the two Parties and countries, enhancing policy alignment, jointly organizing activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, managing and resolving disagreements appropriately, and promoting the building of a strategically significant Vietnam-China community with a shared future that is constantly deepening and becoming more substantive.

General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping officially announced the launch of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year and exchanged New Year greetings, wishing the people of both countries good fortune and prosperity.
