The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations congratulates Laos on its 50th National Day.

On December 8th, in New York City, USA, Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, and his wife, along with leaders and key officials of Vietnamese representative agencies in New York, extended their congratulations to Ambassador Thongphane Savanphet, Head of the Permanent Mission of Laos to the United Nations, and his wife, as well as all staff members of the Lao Mission, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet and his wife, along with leaders and key officials of Vietnamese representative offices in New York, congratulated Laos on its 50th National Day.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet warmly congratulated the Lao Party and State on the highly successful organization of the solemn celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of Lao National Day, with the participation and witness of a large number of people and international friends.

The Head of the Vietnamese Delegation expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the significant progress made by the Party, State, and people of fraternal Laos in socio -economic development and international integration; and expressed confidence that the diplomatic achievements in recent times, including the contributions of the Lao Permanent Mission to the United Nations, will continuously enhance Laos' position and role in the international arena.

Ambassador Thongphane Savanphet expressed his emotion at the kind sentiments of Ambassador Do Hung Viet and his Vietnamese colleagues towards Laos; he sincerely thanked the loyal and heartfelt support and assistance that the Party, State, and people of fraternal Vietnam have given to Laos in the cause of national construction, defense, and socio-economic development over the years.

The Head of the Lao Delegation expressed his hope that the Lao and Vietnamese Delegations in New York would continue to uphold their tradition of close coordination and mutual support, as well as jointly promote ASEAN solidarity and its role at the United Nations.

In a friendly and fraternal atmosphere, the two Ambassadors and Heads of Missions expressed their delight at the success of General Secretary To Lam's recent State visit to Laos, as well as the important results of the High-Level Meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 48th Session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee, which help to guide and deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos.
