(GLO)- On the morning of May 31, at Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Ia Dom commune, Duc Co district, Gia Lai province), the Provincial Youth Union organized the launching ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and responded to the Month of Action for Children 2023.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Departmentof Education and Training; the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee; the District Party Committee - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Co district; representatives of the Youth Union of Provincial Agencies and Enterprises, the Provincial Police Youth Union, the Provincial Border Guard Youth Union; the Party Committee - People's Committee of Ia Dom commune; Duc Co District Youth Union and more than 700 union members and children of Duc Co district.
This year's Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign takes place from May 31 to August 31, 2023. Accordingly, Gia Lai youth are determined to achieve 11 targets, including: Mobilizing at least 60,000 union members and young people to participate in volunteer activities deployed by the Youth Union. Establishing at least 2 new self-managed youth routes in urban areas. Building at least 5 new charity houses, gratitude houses, and red scarf houses. Planting at least 170,000 new trees. Repairing at least 20 km and building at least 5 km of new rural roads.
Mobilize union members and young people to propose 400 ideas and initiatives. Support digital capacity building for at least 3,000 youth and people. Support at least 2 creative start-up projects of young people. Provide career and employment counseling for at least 3,000 union members and young people; introduce jobs to at least 300 young people. Organize for 500 youth to participate in activities to support foreign language capacity building and international integration. Support for at least 2,000 children in difficult circumstances.

In order to promote the pioneering and volunteering role of young people in participating in socio -economic development and new rural construction, at the launching ceremony, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee established 5 youth volunteer teams, including: Pink Vacation Youth Volunteer Team; Red Flamboyant Youth Volunteer Team; Exam Season Counseling-Support Youth Volunteer Team; Green March Volunteer Team; Green Summer Volunteer Team.

At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc presented a symbolic board of a “red scarf” house to Ro Cham H’Nin (class 8B, Nguyen Trai Secondary School); awarded 20 scholarships (each worth 500,000 VND) to disadvantaged children in Ia Dom commune. The Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Protection of Children’s Rights presented 30 gifts (each worth 200,000 VND) to disadvantaged students.
The Provincial Border Guard Youth Union presented 12 gifts to disadvantaged children in the programs “Helping children go to school” and “Adopted children of Border Guard Station”. Yadea electric vehicles presented 10 scholarships (VND 500,000 each) and 20 gifts to students of Nguyen Trai Secondary School.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the youth volunteer teams simultaneously carried out activities: training on accident prevention and drowning for children at Nguyen Trai Secondary School; promoting “Gia Lai Youth for the Fatherland’s Border” in Ia Pnôn Commune; planting 500 trees in Ia Dom Commune; starting the construction of “Red Scarf” houses for disadvantaged children in Ia Dom Commune…
