Gia Lai Border Guard launched a high-point campaign against crimes on the border.

(GLO)- On the morning of December 9, the Border Guard Command of Gia Lai province launched a peak emulation campaign to fight against crime, drugs, human trafficking, smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods on border routes and sea areas before, during, and after the Lunar New Year 2026.

The peak emulation period takes place from November 25, 2025 to February 28, 2026 with the main goals and tasks: firmly grasp and correctly assess the situation of criminal activities in the country, abroad, and at sea; synchronously, promptly, and effectively deploy professional methods and activities, focusing on doing a good job of basic investigations on key routes, areas, and topics.

Timely detect subjects, networks, and organizations with signs of crime to establish specialized projects and professional plans to combat them; carefully review and specifically identify key areas to successfully organize and combat specialized projects.

In particular, focusing on networks, subjects of illegal trading, storage, and use of drugs, weapons, explosives; violations of illegal exploitation and transportation of forest products, minerals, and aquatic products; crimes of human trafficking, smuggling, counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, and goods of unknown origin. Preventing and minimizing the situation of sending people and vehicles to foreign waters to illegally exploit seafood.

In addition, Gia Lai Border Guard strengthens close coordination with the Police, Customs, and Coast Guard forces to effectively implement regulations and plans for coordination in crime prevention and control, exchange information, deploy professional plans, establish and fight joint projects to destroy criminal networks and organizations; strengthen cooperation with Cambodian functional forces to fight and prevent criminal activities, and capture criminals hiding on both sides of the border.

At the same time, advise local Party committees and authorities to step up propaganda and education work for people in border areas to raise their awareness of the law, be vigilant against the methods and tricks of criminals; actively participate in preventing and denouncing crimes. Timely commend and reward groups and individuals with outstanding and typical achievements during the peak period.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard has achieved many outstanding results in the fight against crime. Of which, 12 cases/21 subjects have been discovered, arrested, and criminally prosecuted, including 9 cases/17 subjects related to drugs; 3 cases/4 subjects violating the law on trading and transporting prohibited goods. The force has also handled 209 cases/254 subjects and 3 organizations for administrative violations, collecting nearly 4.8 billion VND for the State budget.
