Specifically, using the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission is 19 points (on a 30-point scale, without applying any weighting factors, and including regional and preferential treatment points if applicable).

Using the results of the National University of Hanoi's High School Competency Assessment Exam (HSA), converted to a 30-point scale, the entrance threshold is 19 points (without weighting, including priority points if any).

For other admission methods, the admissions councils of each unit will convert and announce the threshold scores in accordance with the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University.

Hanoi National University requires its affiliated units to base their announcements on the quality assurance thresholds for admission set by Hanoi National University and the Ministry of Education and Training (for health science and teacher training programs). Schools and affiliated units must report their threshold scores for each major and training program to the Hanoi National University Admissions Steering Committee before July 21, 2025. Simultaneously, they must publicly announce these scores on their respective websites, the Hanoi National University website, and enter the data into the relevant online system according to the Ministry of Education and Training's guidelines.

On the same day, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the minimum quality assurance thresholds based on admission scores for the following groups of majors:

For the Engineering group of majors, the admission threshold for talent-based programs is 55 (out of 100); the score for the Thinking Skills Assessment test is 46.95 (out of 100); and the score for the High School Graduation Exam is 19.5 (out of 30).

For the Economics, Education, and Foreign Languages groups of majors, the talent-based admission threshold is 55 (out of 100); the Thinking Skills Assessment score is 46.48 (out of 100); and the High School Graduation Exam score is 19 (out of 30).

Based on various score distributions and admission data from previous years, Hanoi University of Science and Technology also forecasts the admission scores for its regular undergraduate programs in 2025 as follows:

For the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores, the predicted cutoff scores range from 19 to 27.8+, depending on the major. Among these, technology-related fields have the highest predicted cutoff scores: Computer Science, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (advanced program) both have a predicted cutoff score of 27.8+; Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Digital Security, Control and Automation Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering and Nanotechnology all have predicted cutoff scores of 26.5-28…

The majors with the lowest predicted cutoff scores are: Business Administration - in collaboration with Troy University (USA) 19-22; Resource and Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Textile Technology, Biotechnology (advanced program) all with predicted cutoff scores ranging from 19.5-22…

For the admission method based on the Thinking Skills Assessment test score, the predicted cutoff score ranges from 46.48 to 71.62 (on a 100-point scale).

Based on the general guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training and the score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announces the score difference between admission combinations using high school graduation exam scores as follows:

For the subject combinations used for admission to engineering majors, including A00, A01, A02, B00, D07, D26, D28, D29, and K01, there will be no score difference. Similarly, the subject combinations used for admission to economics, education, and foreign languages, including D01 and D04, will also have no score difference.

The difference in scores between the combinations used for admission to the engineering group of majors (A00, A01, A02, B00, D07, D26, D28, D29 and K01) and the combinations used for admission to the economics, education, and foreign language group of majors (D01 and D04) is +0.5 points added to the standard score when applying to the same training program for the combinations A00, A01, A02, B00, D07, D26, D28, D29 and K01.

For example, the FL3-Chinese for Science and Technology program is accepting applications based on three high school graduation exam score combinations: K01, D01, and D04. If the admission score for combination D01 is 20 points, then the admission score for combination D04 will also be 20 points, while the admission score for combination K01 will be 20.5 points.

Regarding the conversion of admission scores between different admission methods, Hanoi University of Science and Technology applies the Percentile Equating method to find equivalent admission scores across the three admission methods: talent-based admission, admission based on the Thinking Skills Assessment test score, and admission based on the High School Graduation Exam score. In addition, Hanoi University of Science and Technology conducts statistical analysis of admission data from the past three years, different admission combinations, and analyzes the distribution of talent-based admission scores by category, the distribution of TSA test scores, and the distribution of 2025 High School Graduation Exam scores with the two original combinations, A00 (Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry) and D01 (Mathematics-Literature-English), to determine the correlation quantile range.

The minimum quality assurance threshold for admission is an important basis for filtering eligible candidates, helping candidates and parents to orient their choices of majors and admission combinations. From July 16, 2025 to 5 PM on July 28, 2025, candidates wishing to register for university admission in 2025 must register their application preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's common virtual filtering system at: https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn. Candidates can refer to the predicted admission scores and minimum quality assurance thresholds of training institutions to register their application preferences for their preferred majors.
