Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation.

(gialai.gov.vn) – On the morning of October 23, at the headquarters of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee (Quy Nhon Ward), the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation in Gia Lai province for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2035, took place between the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). Attending the signing ceremony were comrades: Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lam Hai Giang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; To Dung Thai - Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group and leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

According to the agreement, VNPT will partner with the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee in building and implementing comprehensive digital transformation solutions across the pillars of digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, and digital society. Specifically, VNPT will support Gia Lai province in developing digital infrastructure, data platforms, and intelligent operating systems; and enhancing the digital capacity of officials, civil servants, businesses, and citizens. This will focus on consulting and building specialized databases and shared provincial databases; supporting the operation of smart city systems at the commune level; and implementing smart healthcare, smart education, and digital citizenship solutions. It will also provide online training and guidance on using applications serving citizens and businesses; and implement the "Digital Literacy Program for the People".

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – highly appreciated VNPT Group's capacity in promoting the development of the three pillars of digital transformation: digital government, digital economy , and digital society; and acknowledged the Group's important contributions to the digital transformation process in the locality over the past time, especially in the 2023-2025 period.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province always creates the best conditions for VNPT to conduct surveys and analyses of the current situation to advise relevant sectors and localities within the scope of cooperation. In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested VNPT to prioritize the development of high-quality broadband infrastructure throughout the province, building a telecommunications and information technology infrastructure that is synchronized, modern, interconnected, and secure, ready to meet development needs. He also requested improving the quality of telecommunications and information technology services, expanding 5G coverage throughout the province, especially in key areas and remote regions requiring uninterrupted communication to ensure political and national defense security; and maintaining backup base stations to ensure communication during natural disasters and floods.

Introducing and implementing the latest technologies and achievements in telecommunications and information technology for the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to promote digital transformation, build a digital government, and address the province's challenges, especially in operating the two-tiered local government model. In addition, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan requested VNPT to research and support businesses in the province in participating in digital transformation to promote the development of the digital economy; and to support community digital transformation teams in guiding people to familiarize themselves with basic platforms and applications for daily life.

Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group, pledged that VNPT will accompany the province in building and developing digital transformation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that VNPT's presence in the province would become an "extension" of the Department of Science and Technology, supporting Gia Lai province in its rapid and strong development in digital transformation, accessing and applying new technologies effectively, and meeting the requirements of the new era.

Representing VNPT, Mr. To Dung Thai - Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group - pledged that VNPT will accompany Gia Lai province in building digital infrastructure, data infrastructure, developing a modern 5G telecommunications network, and providing the most advanced technological solutions. The goal is to contribute to building an effective digital government, promoting the development of the digital economy, and forming a comprehensive digital society.
