Trump and his running mate JD Vance's campaign rally in Minnesota on July 27th featured several ABBA hits such as "The Winner Takes It All," "Money, Money, Money," and "Dancing Queen."
Universal Music's statement clarified that the company and the members of ABBA demanded that Trump's campaign team immediately cease using and remove ABBA's music.
Universal Music asserts that it did not grant rights to use these musical products to Mr. Trump's campaign team.
Trump's campaign team has not yet responded to this information.
Several artists or their representatives have previously objected to their music being played at Trump events over the years, including the late American singer- guitarist Tom Petty, British singer-songwriter Adele, and the rock band REM.
In April 2024, Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor also asked the Trump campaign to stop using her music.
Canadian singer Celine Dion and her record label filed a similar complaint earlier this month, calling the use of her music unauthorized.
