A decade of beautifying the land.
The 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking construction of the record-breaking cable car line to the summit of Fansipan marks Sun Group's 10-year journey in Sa Pa, contributing to the transformation of a region rich in potential but not yet fully exploited, turning it into a leading attractive destination nationwide.
The Fansipan cable car project was the first component of the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist complex, studied and planned since 2013. Construction took 800 days and nights in harsh terrain and natural conditions, entirely by human labor and a rudimentary service cable car system. The Fansipan cable car was officially inaugurated in 2016, earning two Guinness World Records and opening up opportunities for millions of tourists of all ages to conquer the "Roof of Indochina," laying the foundation for a series of equally impressive tourist projects in Sa Pa that followed.

Over its 10-year presence in Sa Pa, Sun Group has continuously added high-class, quality, and distinctive tourism products, creating the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist complex with diverse and unique experiences. These include the tallest flagpole in Indochina, a magnificent spiritual complex, the longest mountain railway, and the largest rose valley in Vietnam. Sun Group's tourism ecosystem in Sa Pa is further enhanced with the launch of the world-class 5-star Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery, designed by the architectural "wizard" Bill Bensley, which won the prestigious "Asia's Leading Hotel Architecture 2020" award from the World Travel Awards.
Sun World Fansipan Legend is also considered one of the pioneering tourist areas in the direction of humane and sustainable development, preserving and promoting local cultural values. Up to 58% of the resort's current staff are ethnic minorities from Sa Pa and Lao Cai, many of whom were once impoverished individuals without stable employment to make ends meet. Every year, the resort organizes no fewer than 10 cultural and spiritual events, many of which revive the beauty of Northwest Vietnam that is at risk of disappearing, such as the "Horse Racing on the Clouds" competition and the "Flower Flute Festival". All of the resort's efforts have been evidenced by prestigious awards such as "World's Leading Cultural Destination", "Vietnam's Leading Natural Scenic Destination", and "Outstanding Cultural and Spiritual Complex in Asia-Pacific".

A decade of construction and development of the tourist area has been closely accompanied by the spectacular acceleration of local tourism. In the year the tourist area launched, Sa Pa welcomed over 1 million visitors for the first time, and three years later, the number of visitors increased vertically. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Lao Cai is considered one of the localities that recovered strongly, with a highlight being its ranking among the top tourist destinations in the country in the first six months of the year.
The 10-year journey of Sun Group and Sun World Fansipan Legend in Sa Pa is a determined step towards the goal of accelerating tourism in Sa Pa in particular and Lao Cai in general, so that the region can regain its rightful place and even surpass it on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.
