From Resolution 57 to concrete action
Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Information Tran Van Tung said that this is the first time an in-depth workshop on the role of science and technology information on a large scale has been held. This is even more meaningful when the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
"Scientific and technological information is not only pure knowledge but also a valuable resource, an important catalyst for the process of innovation and socio-economic development of the country. This is an extremely important time for us to together seek smart and creative solutions in applying them to practical life" - Mr. Tung affirmed.
The workshop focused on discussing the main contents, including: enhancing awareness of strategic roles; clarifying the role of innovation drivers; promoting international cooperation based on international scientific databases and cutting-edge technology fields (AI and data science, mapping and microchip technology, biotechnology and advanced materials, green energy and storage technology, etc.).
Scientific and technological information is the "lifeblood"
As the leading university in the Southern region, VNU-HCM is fully aware of its responsibility and mission in implementing Resolution 57.

According to Associate Professor Triet, in addition to information sources shared from the library system, it is also necessary to diversify access forms, for example through specialized associations on artificial intelligence and related fields.
Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, said that scientific and technological information is considered the “lifeblood” of the process of digital economic development, industrialization, modernization and international integration. The contents discussed in the workshop are urgent and have long-term value, contributing to providing important scientific and practical arguments for the leadership, direction and policy making of the Party and State in the new period.
