Why is a vice chairman in Binh Phuoc province being recommended for disciplinary action?

(NLĐO) - The Inspection Committee of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee has proposed disciplinary action against Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Gia Map District, for numerous violations.

On March 10th, the Inspection Committee of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee, 11th term, held its 64th, 65th, 66th, and 67th meetings, during which it reviewed and proposed disciplinary action against a number of local leaders.

Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission is considering a proposal to discipline Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan - Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Gia Map District - for numerous violations.

Mr. Hoan, in his role as Chairman of the Compensation and Land Clearance Support Council for the "Construction of a Centralized Waste Treatment Plant in Bu Gia Map District" Project, was found to have failed to lead and direct the council's activities and the working group of experts; he directed the development of compensation and support plans for land and assets attached to the land in violation of regulations, causing losses to the state budget.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Gia Map District, was prosecuted and temporarily detained in October 2024.

Considering the nature, extent, and consequences of the incident, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission recommends that the Provincial Party Standing Committee consider and discipline Mr. Hoan according to regulations.

In addition, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission reviewed the results of the inspection when there were signs of violations by the Party Committee of the Provincial Tax Department for the 2020-2025 term.

Besides the achievements, the Party Committee of the Provincial Tax Department also had some limitations and shortcomings in leadership, inspection, and supervision of the implementation of professional tasks during the 2020-2021 period. These included shortcomings in monitoring and collecting tax debts from My Le Co., Ltd. for the My Le Commercial and Service Urban Area project, and some officials, Party members, and civil servants had shortcomings and violations in refunding taxes to Loc Ninh 3 and 4 Energy Joint Stock Companies.

Consequently, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission issued a reprimand to the Party Committee of the Provincial Tax Department for the 2020-2025 term and Mr. Tran Van Huong - former Secretary of the Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, former Director of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Tax Department; currently the Chairman of the Inspection Commission of the Party Committee of the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee.

At the same time, we request that the Party Committee of the Provincial Tax Department conduct a serious review and draw profound lessons from the actions of the individuals involved.
