[Video] Prevent disease outbreaks after floods

The Ministry of Health and specialized units have deployed many emergency support activities to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks after floods in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Mr. Hoang Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Disease Prevention ( Ministry of Health ) said: The Ministry of Health has sent key working groups to localities heavily affected by floods to support disease prevention and control and ensure people's health. The groups urgently deploy medical examination and treatment, epidemiological surveillance and control the risk of infectious disease outbreaks.

Following urgent instructions, the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City provided professional support to Gia Lai and Lam Dong, prepared human resources, materials, specialized equipment and worked with the local health sector. Through surveys, the teams noted the risk of diarrhea, dengue fever, measles, hand, foot and mouth disease, dermatological and respiratory diseases due to post-flood conditions; while vector monitoring and risk assessment work was still limited.
