On April 10, the working group of the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City had a monitoring session to support the work of preventing and controlling infectious diseases in Long An province.

The monitoring team worked at the Provincial General Hospital on the detection, admission and treatment of infectious diseases such as rabies, severe viral pneumonia, hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever and vaccine-preventable diseases. Monitored a number of poultry/waterfowl slaughterhouses in Tan An city.
Mr. Huynh Huu Dung - Director of Long An Province Center for Disease Control said: According to the delegation's assessment, all hospitals in Long An health sector are ready to receive all patients suspected of avian influenza, treatment areas, isolation areas are ready. Supplies, equipment as well as chemicals for epidemic treatment and treatment are ready to receive cases of avian influenza as well as other infectious diseases.
After the monitoring session, the Delegation had a working session with the Department of Health of Long An province to re-evaluate the situation of infectious disease prevention in the province.
According to a report from Long An Provincial General Hospital, from the beginning of the year to March 31, the hospital recorded 51 cases of dengue fever, 24 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, 6 cases of chickenpox and 1 case of mumps./.
