From October 20-24, a delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) led by Permanent Vice President Nguyen Duc Loi visited and worked in the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of the Cambodian Club of Journalists (CCJ), to exchange professional work experience in the field of information, and at the same time promote press and media cooperation between the Journalists Associations of the two countries.
On October 23, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Cambodian Journalists Club held a bilateral meeting to discuss changes in the information and communication sector in the digital transformation period, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' Journalists Associations.
Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi informed about the press and media situation in Vietnam, especially the challenges in the current digital era, digital technology , social networks and artificial intelligence (AI) development.
In that context, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that the two countries need to further strengthen cooperation in the field of information, especially coordination and information exchange between press agencies to help official press agencies provide quick and accurate information to the public.
For his part, Mr. Puy Kea, President of the Cambodian Journalists Club, said that the information sector in Cambodia is facing rapid changes due to the development of digital technology, AI and the influence of social media content producers or influencers. In this context, professional journalists need further training to be able to compete and maintain the quality of information in an increasingly tight financial context.
On the same day, a delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association visited and worked with Apsara Media Services (AMS Media), a multi-format media production agency in Cambodia, to learn and exchange experiences in professional training and technology application in the fields of journalism and media, especially AI.

The delegation also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia. At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu informed the delegation about the general situation in the area, highly appreciated the Vietnamese press agencies stationed in the area for grasping and covering information about the local situation. The two sides discussed a number of issues that need attention related to the foreign information work of the Vietnamese press in the current context.
During the visit and working session in the Kingdom of Cambodia, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association also met with Mr. Pen Bona, Minister accompanying the Prime Minister , Head of the Spokesperson's Office of the Royal Government of Cambodia; visited the wonder of Angkor Wat and other scenic spots in Cambodia; visited the VNA Resident Office in Phnom Penh and a number of Vietnamese organizations and enterprises operating and doing business in the land of pagodas.
The working visit to Cambodia by the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association, as well as the bilateral meeting in Phnom Penh between the Cambodian Journalists Club and the Vietnam Journalists Association, aimed to exchange experiences in professional work, promote the provision of truthful and responsible information to the public, and strengthen cooperation between the two Journalists Association organizations in the two neighboring countries of Vietnam and Cambodia./.
