This was emphasized by Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), at the signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement to implement VietQR Pay and honor Vietnamese products between Central Retail Vietnam (CRV) and Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS), which took place on the morning of October 24th in Hanoi.

This is the first time the event has been organized to honor the value of Vietnamese goods and give Hanoi residents the opportunity to experience shopping for regional specialties from many localities across the country. The program honored 20 brands participating in the "Honoring Vietnamese Products" campaign, notably specialty rice products such as ST25 paddy rice (Hai Phong), Tu Le sticky rice (Lao Cai), Seng Cu sticky rice (Lao Cai - Lai Chau), and golden flower sticky rice ( Bac Ninh )...

In addition, many other famous specialties were also honored, such as: dried shiitake mushrooms, straw mushrooms, Gioi Phien vermicelli, mung bean vermicelli, dried bamboo shoots, coconut candy… providing consumers with a convenient shopping experience and attractive discounts.

At the ceremony, Central Retail and NAPAS signed a cooperation agreement to implement VietQR Pay payment method across the entire GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarket system. This solution helps customers pay quickly and securely by scanning VietQR Pay codes directly on their banking or e-wallet applications, while also supporting businesses in managing revenue instantly, transparently, and efficiently.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), said that in recent times, ministries, sectors, and localities, including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, have always prioritized the development of the domestic market. Implementing Viet QR Pay and honoring Vietnamese products at Central Retail's system is one of the meaningful activities that will contribute to stimulating consumer demand and promoting the effectiveness of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign. Through this program, it also contributes to encouraging the implementation of digital payments in the domestic retail market.

This is an inevitable trend in the context of the digital economy and cashless society being strongly promoted in Vietnam as well as around the world.

According to Mr. Tran Huu Linh, for retail businesses, applying QR code payment not only enhances customer experience but also helps analyze consumer behavior, optimize business strategies, and manage operations more transparently and efficiently.

"As one of Vietnam's leading retailers, Central Retail continues to demonstrate its social responsibility by promoting the consumption of high-quality Vietnamese goods and ensuring affordable prices for consumers. We also expect NAPAS and commercial banks to cooperate closely with the retail system to bring more convenience to the people, contributing to the strong development of the modern retail market and boosting domestic consumption," Mr. Tran Huu Linh suggested.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Hung, Deputy General Director of NAPAS, said: "In just a few weeks, NAPAS and Central Retail have deployed VietQR Pay at approximately 70 points of sale nationwide. This is the result of effective cooperation, aiming for a seamless and transparent payment experience for customers."

Representing Central Retail Vietnam, Mr. Olivier Langlet, CEO, affirmed: "Central Retail not only develops its business but also contributes to modernizing Vietnam's retail industry, bringing consumers closer to modern shopping standards. Through the implementation of VietQR Pay in our retail system, Central Retail not only provides a more convenient payment experience but also contributes to the government's efforts to promote cashless payments, thereby stimulating domestic consumption."

According to the plan, VietQR Pay will be expanded to all of Central Retail's more than 350 outlets, aiming to build a modern, convenient retail ecosystem that connects Vietnamese goods with Vietnamese consumers.
