Vietnam hosts the 24th ASEAN Accountants Conference

(Chinhphu.vn) – On October 30-31, the 24th ASEAN Federation of Accountants Conference and the 141st AFA Council Conference will take place in Hanoi. The event, hosted by Vietnam, will gather thousands of delegates, focusing on the theme "Green accounting and finance - Shaping a sustainable future".

Day On October 27, the Vietnam Association of Accountants and Auditors (VAA) held a press conference to inform about the 24th ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA 2025) Conference and the 141st AFA Council Conference. This is an important event, hosted by Vietnam as the Chair of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants for the 2024-2025 term.

It is expected that more than 1,500 domestic and international delegates will attend in person, along with more than 2,000 delegates and professional organizations participating via online platforms.

Prof. Dr. Doan Xuan Tien - Chairman of AFA, Chairman of VAA said that organizing AFA 2025 in Vietnam not only affirms the position of the Vietnamese accounting and auditing industry in the region but is also an opportunity to expand cooperation and exchange expertise with international organizations.

This year's conference, themed "Green Accounting and Finance - Shaping a Sustainable Future", takes place in a global context facing many environmental, social and economic challenges.

The conference aims to create a platform for cooperation among ASEAN countries, sharing experiences and best practices in the fields of accounting and finance. Discussions will focus on topics such as green accounting, sustainability reporting (ESG), green finance models and the role of technology in sustainable development.

AFA 2025 is also an occasion to transfer the role of Chairman of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants from Vietnam to Indonesia for the term 2026 - 2027.

The conference included three main discussion sessions: "Sustainability accounting and reporting - Foundation for transparent green finance", "Green finance models and practices", "Training, technology and sustainable future". These sessions were attended by many experts, business leaders and international organizations.

In addition, the forum will have the participation of international experts, professional organizations such as World Bank, ACCA... Big4 auditing companies to share international experiences and recommendations for Vietnam. Domestic enterprises will also present practical models, clearly stating the effectiveness, difficulties and challenges when implementing green finance and accounting.

In the context of green transformation and digital transformation taking place strongly, the message "Go green, grow sustainable" is considered a consistent orientation. The conference not only creates opportunities for connection between experts and businesses but also contributes to shaping the policy for developing accounting and auditing professions in the new era.
