Vietnam affirms its potential in the global Halal supply chain

The 11th Global Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2025 was recently held at the Istanbul Expo Center in Istanbul, Türkiye to raise awareness of various aspects of the Halal economy, support the development of the industry and promote cooperation.

According to a VNA correspondent in Europe, these events were organized by Discover Events Company under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Turkey, in cooperation with the Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the Center for Development of Islamic Trade (ICDT) and related organizations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The Foreign Economic Relations Commission of Turkey (DEIK) also participated in supporting.

This year's Global Halal Summit brought together international experts, government officials, scholars and Islamic jurists from 18 countries, with 59 speakers and about 9,000 delegates. The event included 10 discussion sessions, focusing on topics of the Halal economy in many fields such as finance, tourism, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, textiles and fashion . Meanwhile, the Halal 2025 Exhibition had the participation of more than 500 exhibitors from about 40 countries in fields such as Halal food, cosmetics, finance, textiles, tourism and healthcare. The exhibition attracted 40,000-50,000 visitors from more than 110 countries, more than 5,000 business networking meetings.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Dang Thi Thu Ha and representatives of the Middle East - Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs , together with the delegation of Lam Dong province led by Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the opening ceremony and discussion sessions of the Global Halal Summit.

Also within the framework of the Conference, Vietnamese delegates met and discussed with Mr. İhsan Övüt, Secretary General of the Institute of Standards and Metrology for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) and Mr. Zafer Soylu, Chairman of the Turkish Halal Authority (HAK) to learn about the process of building unified Halal standards, Halal accreditation services in Turkey; Vietnam's potential and advantages in Halal; prospects for Halal cooperation between Vietnam and Türkiye; and discussed forms of cooperation between the two sides as well as the coordination of relevant agencies of the two countries in this field.

At the Halal 2025 Exhibition, with two exhibition booths, Vietnamese enterprises left a strong impression through diverse products from agricultural products, food, cosmetics, medicinal herbs and tourism. The active participation of Vietnamese small and medium enterprises not only promoted the image of Vietnamese products and services, but also contributed to affirming Vietnam's potential in becoming a reliable link in the global Halal supply chain. Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Elif Canan Tuncer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Discover Events, Chairman of the Board of the Global Halal Summit Yunus Ete visited the Vietnamese exhibition booth.

In addition to attending the above events, the Lam Dong delegation also visited Konya province - Turkey's leading agricultural and industrial center for the production of agricultural machinery and auto parts - to promote Lam Dong province and seek business cooperation opportunities with Konya enterprises.
