On October 10th, at the Hoan Kiem Central Post Office located at 75 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, the stamp exhibition "Vietnam 2024 - Moving Forward Together" was inaugurated.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong, representatives of stamp associations, collectors and stamp lovers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and guests from Hong Kong (China).

The Five Countries - Vietnam 2024 Stamp Exhibition is organized with the aim of strengthening the relationship of cooperation, friendship, and mutual understanding between stamp collectors of ASEAN countries; training to improve the level and skills of forming and upgrading stamp collections to participate in international and world stamp exhibitions for members of the Vietnam Stamp Association.

At the same time, it facilitates the promotion of cooperation in the field of stamp collecting and the sharing of experiences to develop the movement.

Taking place over 3 days, from October 10 to October 12, the Five Countries - Vietnam 2024 stamp exhibition will display 71 collections corresponding to 300 frames of collectors from 5 ASEAN countries and guests from Hong Kong (China).

Specifically, Vietnam displayed 27 collections with 128 frames, Malaysia presented 9 collections comprising 41 frames, Singapore had 7 collections enclosed in 27 frames, Thailand registered 9 collections with 37 frames, Indonesia registered 13 collections with 45 frames; and guest Hong Kong (China) registered 6 collections with 22 stamp frames.

This is the first time the Vietnam Philatelic Association has hosted a regional stamp exhibition, the Five-Country Stamp Exhibition - Vietnam 2024, with the sponsorship of the World Philatelic Federation, the support of the Asia- Pacific Philatelic Federation and the support of Vietnam Post Corporation.

Commenting on this exhibition as a new milestone of the stamp collecting movement in Vietnam on the path of development, Ms. Chu Thi Lan Huong, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Post, President of the Vietnam Stamp Association, said: Since its establishment on December 30, 1960, the Vietnam Stamp Association has organized many stamp exhibitions at all levels, including 6 times organizing the National Stamp Exhibition - Vietstampex.

“The results of national stamp exhibitions provide a solid foundation for the Association to host international stamp exhibitions. The achievements of the Vietnam Philatelic Association in recent years affirm to international friends the strong development of the Vietnam Philatelic Association as well as its ability to organize regional-scale exhibitions,” shared Ms. Chu Thi Lan Huong.

According to Ms. Chu Thi Lan Huong, currently the association as well as the domestic stamp collecting movement have the opportunity to achieve greater achievements in their development journey. Vietnam's stamp collections have been sent to participate in international and world stamp exhibitions with many high achievements, many local stamp associations actively organize regular activities; exchange and learning sessions are also promoted, especially in schools.

The organizers stated that the three-day exhibition has three distinct themes: "Hanoi Day," "Stamp Day," and "Young Collectors' Day," with corresponding activities and commemorative stamps issued for each day of the exhibition for collectors.

Specifically, on October 10th, the exhibition focused on promoting the significance of the Liberation Day of Hanoi, the cultural beauty of Hanoi past and present, and the growth and development of Hanoi through postage stamps on this theme.

On October 11, there will be activities to exchange experiences between domestic and international stamp collectors on knowledge of building collections for international stamp exhibitions; experiences in collecting rare items...; On October 12, the exhibition will have activities to guide young people to build collections for young people; introduce stamp collections for the "Youth Collection" category.

In addition, as part of the exhibition's opening ceremony, Vietnam Post introduced to stamp enthusiasts both domestically and internationally two new stamp sets issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications: "Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Universal Postal Union 1874 - 2024" and "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi 10/10/1954 - 10/10/2024".
