Viettel Money expands social security beneficiary channels

(Dan Tri) - Viettel Money digital financial application of Viettel Digital Services Corporation (Viettel Digital) has officially linked with VNeID, becoming one of the channels for people to register for social security accounts.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, as of June 2025, nearly 13% of adults still do not have a bank account. In addition, not all banks have completed the connection with VNeID. In this context, a practical solution has been born: people with Viettel phone numbers can easily register for Viettel Money to connect with VNeID, thereby receiving social security benefits conveniently and safely.

This solution is especially meaningful for people in remote areas - where Viettel's telecommunications and Internet infrastructure covers the entire area. Thanks to that, millions of people have another suitable option to access social security resources.

Viettel Money has also promptly deployed instructions and support for people to link social security accounts on VNeID.

According to Resolution 11 issued on January 9, 2024 at the Government Conference with localities and the regular Government meeting in December 2023, social security accounts will be directly integrated with personal identification numbers on the VNeID application. This method helps to shorten procedures, limit fraud, and connect population data so that the payment of subsidies, insurance, and health care is quick, public, and clear.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Government issued Official Dispatch No. 149 on giving gifts of 100,000 VND to all citizens. This gift is paid through social security accounts on VNeID. Linking Viettel Money with VNeID opens another important channel for the social security budget to reach all citizens, to the right people, at the right time.

Viettel Money is one of the channels with high practical value in expanding the coverage of the social security system, ensuring that "no one is left behind in the national digital transformation process".

As of April 2025, Viettel Money has served nearly 30 million customers, providing more than 350 services from digital payments to digital finance (credit, insurance, savings, online investment, etc.). Viettel Money is currently leading in market share and coverage of essential payment segments such as electricity, water, Internet, tuition, transportation, telecommunications and public administration. Through its partnership with VNeID, Viettel Money continues to demonstrate its efforts to accompany the Government in promoting national digital transformation and developing a digital society in the spirit of "leaving no one behind".
