Honoring the national artists "working hard in the field of art"

(To Quoc) - To honor outstanding individuals and groups, and to inspire the creative spirit and dedication of those working in art and literature, on the evening of January 11th at the Hai Phong City Theater, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Hai Phong City People's Committee, organized a program to introduce outstanding artists and some prominent books in the fields of performing arts and literature in 2024. 2024 was considered a flourishing year for artistic activities, from national and international festivals to works that left a deep impression on audiences, contributing to raising the status of performing arts and literature. The program is not only an opportunity to look back at the achievements but also a gathering place for outstanding figures – artists, writers, and excellent works – representing the continuous creativity of the country's arts and literature.

Speaking at the program, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the program was organized following the success of the meeting of artists and writers chaired by General Secretary To Lam in Hanoi on December 30, 2024. In his address to the meeting, the General Secretary affirmed: "The noblest mission of revolutionary artists and writers is to create cultural character and build socialist human beings."

According to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, looking back at the journey from the beginning of his term to the present, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proactively coordinated closely with ministries, departments, localities, and professional associations to strive to preserve and promote the fine traditional values ​​of Vietnamese culture, constantly exploring, creating, and developing, aiming for new artistic heights, striving to create works of significant stature that comprehensively and profoundly reflect the reality of the nation's renewal and development, contributing to spreading Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stated that in 2024, through six professional art competitions and festivals organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on a national and international scale, encompassing various art forms, along with thousands of performances by art troupes nationwide, and outstanding art programs attracting hundreds of thousands of viewers, the innovation in the performing arts not only meets political requirements and the cultural needs of the people, but also helps the cultural sector discover and honor the talents and positive contributions of artists; these are "beautiful flowers in the garden of art," making positive contributions to the country's art fields.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his hope and belief that the country's artists and writers would inherit and build upon the achievements already made, continuing to "work diligently in the field of art," creating great works of value in terms of ideology, art, and humanism, captivating the public, and awakening the ability to select what is refined and beautiful, defining oneself, values, and national identity associated with the aspiration for integration and contribution in each individual. This would be a "soft shield to eliminate what is offensive and uncultured."

At the event, the Organizing Committee honored 34 outstanding artists and actors who won Gold medals and First prizes at national professional arts festivals organized by the Department of Performing Arts in coordination with the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Vietnam Dancers Association, the Vietnam Theatre Artists Association, and related units in 2024, including: the National Drama Festival, the International Dance Festival; the National Music and Dance Festival; and the National Cai Luong Festival.

Sharing his feelings upon receiving the Outstanding Young Face of 2024 award, singer Tran Minh Hieu said that this award is extremely meaningful to him, and he will consider it a great source of motivation to strive and develop more creatively in the future.

People's Artist Vu Tu Long received the Inspirational Artist award and singer Tung Duong received the Outstanding Singer of the Year 2024 award.

With the Outstanding Singer of the Year 2024 award, singer Tung Duong was moved to receive this award for the second time. He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for bestowing the award and vowed not to disappoint the trust and love of his audience.

Actors Nguyen Vinh Xuong and Ngoc Xuan received the award for outstanding television and film actors of 2024.

The Organizing Committee also honored outstanding artists and programs in 10 categories, including: Outstanding Television Actor of the Year (actor Nguyen Vinh Xuong, film "Doc Dao"); Outstanding Television Actress of the Year (Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy, film "Gap Em Ngay Nang"); Outstanding Film Actor of the Year (actress Ngoc Xuan, film "Ngay Xua Co Mot Chuyen Tinh"); Outstanding Singer of the Year (singer Tung Duong); Outstanding Young Face of the Year (singer Tran Minh Hieu – rapper HIEUTHUHAI); Inspirational Artist of the Year (People's Artist Tu Long); Live Music Show of the Year ("Sketch a Rose" - singer Ha Anh Tuan); Outstanding Music Video of the Year (MV "Dung Lam Trai Tim Anh Dau" - Son Tung M-TP); Outstanding Political Art Program of the Year (Program "Dien Bien Phu - Golden Milestone of History" - Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre); Outstanding Performance Program of the Year (Concert "Anh Trai Vuot") "A Thousand Thorns", Concert "Brother Says Hi".

In 2024, prominent singers left a strong mark through impressive songs, outstanding performances, and tireless efforts to deliver memorable musical experiences. They are exemplary representatives and inspirations for modern Vietnamese music.
