Alongside other big names, Vietnam's Ha Long Bay heritage site has been included in the list of "10 Most Visited Natural Wonders in the World" by the renowned American travel website The Travel .

The rankings are based on assessments from the Seven Wonders of Nature Foundation, Google, and the latest surveys collected from social media and travel apps like TripAdvisor, based on annual visitor numbers.

Accordingly, with 2.6 million visitors annually, Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh province, Vietnam) ranks 4th out of 10 destinations on this list.

For a long time, Ha Long Bay has been a must-visit destination for international tourists coming to Vietnam. This heritage site consistently receives high praise from leading travel magazines and international media.

Earlier in October, Forbes magazine ranked Ha Long Bay among the top 24 best destinations for 2024, stating that it is “one of the world’s most unique ecosystems and geological formations. Very few places offer such a combination of natural beauty, outdoor activities, fresh food, tranquility, and easy accessibility.”

Also in late October, the renowned international magazine Condé Nast Traveler included Ha Long Bay in its list of the 51 most beautiful destinations in the world. The magazine had previously named Ha Long Bay as one of the most colorful destinations in the world.

In March 2023, CNN 's travel website ranked Ha Long Bay among the top 25 most beautiful destinations in the world. In February 2023, Travel+Leisure magazine suggested Ha Long Bay as one of the four ideal destinations for watching stunning sunrises and sunsets that tourists can visit in any season.

Ha Long Bay has also become an impressive backdrop for Hollywood films such as the blockbuster "Kong: The Skull of Island," and "The Creator" - a science fiction film directed by Gareth Edwards.

The Travel 's list of '10 Most Visited Natural Wonders in the World' also includes other famous landmarks such as: Grand Canyon, Arizona (USA) ranked first with 5 million visitors per year; Table Mountain (South Africa) ranked second with 4.2 million visitors per year; and Moraine Lake (Canada) ranked third with 4 million visitors per year.

Following Ha Long Bay are the following wonders: Matterhorn (Switzerland and Italy); Great Barrier Reef (Australia); Arches National Park, Utah (USA); Cliffs of Moher (Ireland); Iguazu Falls (Argentina and Brazil); Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Ha Long Bay is located in northeastern Vietnam, at the intersection of the western part of the Gulf of Tonkin and the southwestern border with Cat Ba Island.

Ha Long Bay boasts emerald-green waters and nearly 2,000 small limestone islands. The bay's beauty is like a multicolored painting, with each detail harmoniously and miraculously balanced. This UNESCO World Heritage site holds a special appeal for those who enjoy sports such as hiking, swimming, diving, and rock climbing.
