VN-Index's growth streak broke due to selling pressure from real estate and securities groups.

In the trading session on September 16, the Vietnamese stock market still failed to surpass the 1,700 mark at the close. Selling pressure spread across most sectors, especially real estate and securities, causing the VN-Index to close down 4 points, at 1,680.9 points.

Market liquidity increased compared to yesterday's session, with a total trading volume of over 1,483 million shares across all three exchanges, equivalent to a total trading value of over 44,433 billion VND.

Foreign investors continued to net sell for the sixth consecutive session across all three exchanges, totaling over 139 billion VND, focusing on stocks such as VPB (274.86 billion VND), SSI (185.28 billion VND), VND (191.4 billion VND), VIC (113.04 billion VND), VCB (110.34 billion VND), etc.

Conversely, the stocks with the highest net buying volume in this session included VIX (412.57 billion VND), HVN (191.31 billion VND), VNM (173.4 billion VND), MSB (148.96 billion VND), MBB (146.73 billion VND), etc.

On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session increased compared to the previous session, reaching over 37,709 billion VND.

In this session, the stocks that contributed positively to the VN-Index's increase of over 6.75 points included: MBB, CTG, HVN, VNM, FPT, TCB,SHB , SAB, VPB, and MWG.

Conversely, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index, causing it to drop by more than 7.74 points, included: VIC, VHM, HPG, MSN, VJC, BSR , VCB, GVR, VIB, and GEX.

In terms of sectors, software stocks were mostly in the green, rising 1.6%, mainly driven byFPT , CMG, ELC, etc. A few stocks declined, including ITD, HPT, SBD, and CMT.

The securities sector stocks performed negatively, falling 0.89%, mainly due to declines in SSI, VND, VCI, SHS, MBS, FTS, BSI, HCM, VDS, ORS, etc. Conversely, gainers included VIX, FUEVFVND, DSE, E1VFVN30, FUEKIV30, etc.

The banking sector stocks were mostly in the red this session, falling by 0.89%, mainly due to declines in SSI, VND, VCI, SHS, MBS, HCM, BSI, FTS, CTS, VDS… A few stocks increased, including VIX, FUEVFVND, DSE, E1VFVN30, FUEKIV30, FUEMAV30…

The real estate sector stocks were mostly in the red this session, with a 1.47% decrease mainly from VIC, VHM, VRE, KDH, KBC, SJC, VPI, DIG, SIP… Conversely, gainers included BCM, NVL, KSF, NLG, SNZ, IJC…

Energy stocks closed down 0.98%, mainly driven by BSR, PVS, OIL, PVT, PVP, PVC, PVB, TVD, VTV… A few stocks rose, including PLX, MVB, VTO, TMB, VIP, POS, CST…

The materials sector stocks recorded a 1.04% decrease in this session, mainly due to declines in HPG, GVR, KSV, MSR, DCM, HSG, PHR, HT1, TVN, VIF, NTP, NKG, CSV… Conversely, gainers included DGC, DPM, VCS, HGM, BFC, VFG, PAT…

Insurance stocks closed down 0.54% in this session, mainly driven by BVH and BIC. A few stocks that rose included PVI, MIG, PTI, PRE, ABI, and AIC.

Retail stocks were mostly in the green this session, rising 0.75%, mainly driven by stocks like MWG, PNJ, FRT, HTM, CTF, TLP, SVC… Conversely, declining stocks included HUT, DGW, HHS, PET, HAX, VVS…

* The Vietnamese stock market index closed in positive territory today, with the VNXALL-Index falling 7.96 points (-0.27%) to 2,895.53 points. Trading volume exceeded 1,360.27 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over 42,232.97 billion VND. Across the market, 130 stocks increased in price, 82 remained unchanged, and 246 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 278.98 points, down 1.71 points (-0.61%). Total trading volume reached over 100.77 million shares, with a corresponding transaction value of over 2,408.95 billion VND. Across the market, 60 stocks increased in price, 65 remained unchanged, and 95 decreased.

The HNX30 index closed down 8.62 points (-1.39%), at 620.69 points. Trading volume reached over 71.65 million units, with a corresponding value of over 2,016.91 billion VND. Across the market, there were 5 gainers, 4 unchanged stocks, and 21 losers.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 111.32 points, up 0.86 points (+0.78%). Total market liquidity reached over 51.58 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 737.64 billion VND. Across the market, 129 stocks increased in price, 116 remained unchanged, and 96 decreased.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 4 points (-0.24%), at 1,680.9 points. Trading volume reached over 1,330.97 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of over 41,286.42 billion VND. Across the entire exchange, there were 114 gainers, 54 unchanged stocks, and 210 losers.

The VN30 index fell 1.36 points (-0.07%) to 1,875.39 points. Trading volume reached over 605.32 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of over 22,996.24 billion VND. At the end of the trading day, 16 VN30 stocks increased, 1 remained unchanged, and 13 decreased.

The top 5 stocks with the highest trading volume were SHB (over 87.19 million units), VPB (over 70.21 million units), VIX (over 62.36 million units), MBB (over 51.36 million units), and TCB (over 30.13 million units).

The top 5 gainers were CMV (+7%), COM (+6.97%), PNC (+6.96%), VNE (+6.91%), and DTT (+6.89%).

The 5 stocks with the biggest price drops were IJC (-15.32%), CLL (-8.88%), PTC (-6.39%), ICT (-5.18%), and TN1 (-4.82%).

* Today's derivatives market saw 308,265 contracts traded, with a value exceeding VND 57,977.23 billion.
