Regarding the case of over 40 students who graduated from foreign universities but were not recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training , the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has sent a response letter to Tien Phong Newspaper .
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the London College of Design and Fashion (Hanoi) is a vocational education institution with foreign investment, established in 2014 by a decision of the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
According to regulations, the school has the authority to provide college-level training, but not university-level training. However, the school is permitted to collaborate with higher education institutions to provide university-level training in accordance with regulations.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training stated that for the three years 2022-2023-2024, the school reported enrollment data for elementary, intermediate, and college-level programs in three fields: Fashion Design; Interior Decoration; and Graphic Design to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Education and Training). The Department has not received any information regarding the school's partnerships for university-level training.
Regarding the online undergraduate program of Liverpool John Moores University offered at the London College of Design and Fashion, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training stated that the Ministry of Education and Training's response addressed the legal status of this program (meaning the Ministry of Education and Training does not recognize the university degree - PV).

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training stated that in the coming period, it will coordinate with agencies of the Ministry of Education and Training when requested to implement and handle violations by the school in accordance with regulations.
According to an investigation by Tien Phong Newspaper , during the 11 years the school has been operating, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Education and Training) has never inspected or audited the school's training activities. Meanwhile, the school's enrollment and training programs are publicly advertised on websites. The Department only receives reports (filled out according to a template) on enrollment and training for three levels: elementary, intermediate, and college. This shows that the state management of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has "problems".
Meanwhile, a series of questions raised by Tien Phong Newspaper , such as the legal status of college diplomas and the responsibility of state management, were all ignored by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
As reported by Tien Phong Newspaper , recently more than 40 students were shocked when the Ministry of Education and Training refused to authenticate their university degrees issued by Liverpool John Moores University. The reason given was that the online Fashion: Design and Communication program offered by Liverpool John Moores University has not been licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training for students residing and studying in Vietnam.
The students stated that before deciding to study at the London College of Design and Fashion, the school assured them of the legality of the degree. The school had never informed them that the undergraduate program of Liverpool John Moores University had not been licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training. Currently, the school denies any undergraduate training affiliation with Liverpool John Moores University.
Regarding the above incident, on November 20th, Tien Phong Newspaper sent documents, content, and some related materials requesting information from the Ministry of Education and Training. However, as of the morning of December 11th, Tien Phong Newspaper had not received a response from the Ministry of Education and Training.
