Binh Nguyen Commune (Thang Binh) celebrates the 44th anniversary of its establishment.

On September 23, 1981, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 79/QD-HDBT, approving the demarcation of the boundaries to divide Binh Nguyen commune into two new administrative units under Thang Binh district.

Accordingly, the villages of Liễu Trì, Liễu Thạnh, Thanh Ly 1, Thanh Ly 2, zones 4 and 5 of Hà Lam, and Chung Phước village were retained to form Bình Nguyên commune. Zones 1, 2, and 3 of Hà Lam, Đồng Thái village, and zone 5 of Thanh Ly village were separated to form Hà Lam town. By the end of 1984, zones 4 and 5 of Hà Lam and Chung Phước village were merged into Hà Lam town; Bình Nguyên commune now consists of 4 villages: Liễu Trì, Liễu Thạnh, Thanh Ly 1, and Thanh Ly 2.

After the separation process was completed, Binh Nguyen commune has a population of nearly 6,000 people, with 810 households. The administrative boundaries of Binh Nguyen commune now comprise 4 villages: Lieu Thanh, Lieu Tri, Thanh Ly 1, and Thanh Ly 2.

After 44 years (1981 - 2025), thanks to the efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people, Binh Nguyen commune was recognized as a new rural commune in 2019. Rural infrastructure has received significant investment; specifically, in the period 2020 - 2025, 43 projects serving the people's needs, such as rural roads, internal field roads, and irrigation canals, were invested in, with a total cost of over 34 billion VND; thereby contributing to facilitating travel and production for the people.

The total value of production across economic sectors is estimated to reach nearly 720 billion VND by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of over 11% during the 2020-2025 term; the economic structure of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, industry and construction, and trade and services will be 14.6%, 42.2%, and 43.2% respectively. Average income in 2025 is estimated at 61.4 million VND/person/year, an increase of 19.4 million VND/person/year compared to 2020; the poverty rate will decrease from 1.92% in 2020 to 1.61% in 2025…
