Cau Ngang Commune won the first prize in the 2025 Khmer Traditional Musical Instrument Performance Contest of Vinh Long Province

After 4 days of performance, on the night of November 3, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a performance of excellent performances and a closing ceremony, awarding prizes to outstanding groups at the 1st Traditional Khmer Musical Instrument Performance Competition of Vinh Long province in 2025.

Mr. Duong Hoang Sum - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the program to 12 units.

Through the competition, 12 participating units with more than 200 artisans, musicians, actors from communes and wards in the province and Tra Vinh University presented 47 performances. According to the evaluation of the organizing committee, these were unique performances, from solo, duet to ensemble, with many traditional musical instruments typical of the Khmer people.

Mr. Thach Boi - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest said that the artists and actors showed their skillful talents.

From that, it shows that the competition has affirmed the strong vitality of Khmer traditional music in contemporary cultural life. The competition is also a bridge for generations of artisans to meet, exchange experiences, arouse the passion for music for the younger generation, and strengthen the solidarity of ethnic groups in the province.

The Roniet Ek solo performance by Thach Duc, Cau Ke commune unit won A prize.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 14 A prizes, 14 B prizes for excellent performances and 2 secondary prizes for "Impressive music team" and "Impressive program staging".

In particular, regarding the program awards, Cau Ngang commune won the A prize, Chau Thanh commune won the B prize, Cau Ke commune won the C prize and the remaining 9 units won the Encouragement prizes including: Ngu Lac, Tra Cu, Long Hiep, Ngai Tu, An Phu Tan, Song Loc, Binh Phu communes, Tra Vinh ward and Tra Vinh University.
