Accordingly, the commune has arranged forces and equipment to dredge the boat lock in Xuan Dong village to create a mooring place for more than 258 boats of the people. At the same time, the vacant land in Xuan Tu 1 village has been leveled so that people and units can pull boats to higher areas to limit damage when there are storms.

Along with that, the commune has conducted a review of 11 vulnerable areas that are likely to be flooded, isolated and proposed plans to evacuate people in these areas to safe places. For the areas of the villages: Xuan Dong, Xuan Vinh, Ha Gia, people will be evacuated and arranged to take shelter at Van Hung 3 Primary School, Van Hung Kindergarten and Van Hung Border Guard Station.

For Xuan Tu 1 and Xuan Tu 2 villages, people will be evacuated to take shelter at Ly Thuong Kiet Secondary School, Xuan Tu 2 village church, Xuan Tu Post Office , Giac Hai Pagoda, Van Hung 1 Primary School, Van Hung Kindergarten and Le Hong Phong High School.

For Xuan Trang village area, it is arranged to the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Xuan Son Kindergarten, Xuan Son Primary and Secondary School, the headquarters of the Commune Police and Sao Bien Company Limited.

To ensure the lives of people when evacuated, the People's Committee of Van Hung commune has also prepared equipment, vehicles, food, drinking water; prepared canoes and 4 trucks on standby to handle emergency situations; mobilized militia and self-defense forces to be on duty at headquarters to be ready to carry out tasks.

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Phai - Chairman of Van Hung Commune People's Committee said that the locality has deployed inspections of house bracing and deployed forces to areas to support people in reinforcing their roofs. With 245 aquaculture cages at sea, the locality has conducted inspections and requested people to urgently reinforce the cages, move the cages to areas sheltered from waves and wind; at the same time, mobilize people to harvest and sell shrimp and fish that have reached the required weight to limit damage if storms occur.

In particular, the Van Hung commune authorities have notified and requested 378 workers working on the rafts to urgently move ashore. Along with that, the locality continues to coordinate with the Van Hung Border Guard Station to increase patrols, resolutely forcing workers to go ashore and not allowing them to return to the rafts when storm No. 13 approaches the mainland...
