Tractor trailer caught fire while traveling on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai highway

(Dan Tri) - A tractor trailer carrying goods was traveling on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai highway when it suddenly caught fire. As a result, the front of the trailer was completely burned. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

On the morning of March 6, information from the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway management unit said that the tractor trailer fire occurred at around 5:20 a.m. the same day at km24+800, in Duy Son commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province.

According to initial information, at the above time, a container truck with license plate 98F-007.13 towing a trailer with license plate 98R-036.31 (driven by Dang Minh Thang, 36 years old, residing in Bac Giang province) was traveling on the highway and suddenly caught fire.

Moments later, flames erupted, engulfing the entire front of the vehicle.

Upon receiving the news, Quang Nam Provincial authorities coordinated with Traffic Police Team No. 5 to arrive at the scene to extinguish the fire and regulate traffic.

At about 6:10 a.m. the same day, the authorities extinguished the fire, however the front of the tractor was burned and the trailer was also damaged.

According to driver Thang's report, while the car was traveling on the highway at a speed of about 70km/h, he discovered smoke and a burning smell.

Then he turned on the turn signal, drove into the emergency lane, opened the door to check and discovered flames coming from under the car.

He used a mini fire extinguisher in the fire truck, but the fire was so intense that the mini fire extinguisher could not put it out. He then called the authorities.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities.
