Passenger bus caught fire on Highway 1A, 34 people escaped

34 people were lucky to escape a passenger bus fire that just occurred at km 1391+400 on National Highway 1A, through Phu Cang 1 village, Van Phu commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province.

According to initial information, at around 4:15 a.m. this morning (May 23), the passenger car with license plate 49F-000.84 driven by Mr. Nguyen Minh Thuan (born in 1970, residing in Tan Hiep village, Tan Van commune, Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province), was traveling from the North to the above-mentioned route when an accident suddenly occurred.

At that time, there were 34 people on the bus, including 4 bus crew members and 30 passengers. When the fire started from under the bus, at the front of the cabin, the driver pulled the bus to the side of the road and together with 3 bus crew members, guided and assisted the passengers in moving their luggage out of the bus safely before the fire engulfed the bus.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 3 (Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police) mobilized 9 officers and 2 fire trucks to urgently arrive at the scene. The fire fighting force sprayed foam and water to extinguish the fire, but the passenger bus only had the iron frame left.

After the fire, the bus was left with only an iron frame.

It is known that the above mentioned passenger car is owned by Dien Linh Company Limited, headquartered at 126 Hung Vuong, Dinh Van Town, Lam Ha District (Lam Dong). The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Criminal Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province in coordination with Van Phu Commune Police.
