Sequence of events

According to a report from the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward ( Hanoi ), the incident was verified as follows:

On the afternoon of September 16th, in class 7A14 at Dai Kim Secondary School (Dinh Cong Ward, Hanoi), homeroom teacher Ms. TTTH discovered that class president TMT was holding a sharp toy that posed a safety risk. She instructed the student to hand it over.

When the teacher held onto the toy, LGB stood up and demanded it back. Faced with the teacher's firm stance, LGB resorted to pulling the teacher's hair and pinning her down in an attempt to retrieve the toy. This behavior occurred in front of several classmates.

Following the incident, Ms. TTTH reported it to the school administration. The principal personally went to the classroom, demanded that student LGB apologize publicly, and asked the students sitting nearby to write a report.

The school also requested that student LGB write a report and invited the student's parents to a meeting that same afternoon. LGB's parents were present, apologized to the teacher, and requested that their child be absent from school on September 17th for a mental health check.

On September 18th, the family contacted the school again, presenting the examination results and requesting that the student be allowed to return to school as normal. That afternoon, the school administration, the homeroom teacher, and the parents met and agreed on a solution: The parents accepted responsibility, apologized to the teacher, and committed to cooperating in educating their child; the homeroom teacher agreed to overlook the matter after LGB apologized, and the family requested to take their child home for 10 days for supervision and education.

Family and school collaboration

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Board of Directors of Dai Kim Secondary School promptly handled the matter within their authority. The school organized for the offending student to directly admit their mistake and publicly apologize to the teacher in front of the entire class. They also invited the parents to a meeting to agree on educational measures, creating conditions for the student to correct their behavior and improve their conduct; and requested the family to take the child for a psychological health check-up.

Simultaneously, the school promptly provided support, encouragement, and emotional support to the teacher, preventing the incident from creating further pressure and affecting her teaching. The entire sequence of events and initial handling results were promptly reported to the People's Committee of the ward and relevant authorities for further coordinated resolution.

On the afternoon of September 19th, during a meeting with the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee, the school reported that at the time of the incident, LGB showed signs of psychological instability.

Strict and educational measures will be taken.

The People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward determined that the incident at Dai Kim Secondary School was serious, not only directly affecting the safety, honor, and reputation of teachers but also negatively impacting the educational environment and causing public outrage.

The local authorities' approach is to ensure fairness and objectivity, resolutely dealing with misconduct to uphold the dignity of teachers and discipline within the school. In addition, emphasis should be placed on education, helping students recognize their mistakes, giving them opportunities to correct their behavior, and reintegrating them into the group, preventing discrimination or dropping out of school.

To further verify and clarify the details related to the incident, the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward has directed relevant units to continue carrying out the following tasks:

The Department of Culture and Social Affairs is tasked with closely coordinating with schools and relevant agencies to seriously implement the contents of Official Letter No. 446/UBND-VHXH dated September 12, 2025, from the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward regarding strengthening school security and safety and building school culture; and simultaneously providing psychological support for teachers and behavioral counseling for students.

The local police station is tasked with continuing to verify and clarify the details related to the incident, promptly handling any signs of legal violations, and coordinating with the school to prevent the recurrence of school violence.

Regarding Dai Kim Secondary School, the People's Committee of Dinh Cong Ward has requested a serious review of management practices, increased supervision, and maintenance of classroom discipline and regulations. Simultaneously, attention should be paid to encouraging the teacher in charge of the incident, ensuring a safe and healthy educational environment for the teaching staff. Furthermore, the school must continue to closely cooperate with parents to educate and correct students' misconduct, helping them to improve and progress.
