Overnight response to storm number 3

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 3, from the night of July 21 to the morning of July 22, Thanh Hoa province has synchronously and drastically deployed storm prevention and control measures, proactively responding to all possible situations. The whole province focused on fighting the storm with the most urgent and drastic spirit to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the State, minimizing the damage caused by the storm.

In Tam Chung commune, given the complex developments of typhoon No. 3, especially the possibility of prolonged heavy rain due to the typhoon's circulation, some areas in the commune are at very high risk of landslides. The Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have urgently and proactively implemented response plans.

Accordingly, on the night of July 21st, Tam Chung commune carried out the evacuation of 94 people from 15 households from areas at high risk of landslides.

The Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense Committee of Tam Chung commune and its villages and hamlets organize a strict 24/7 duty roster as prescribed.

In Na Meo commune, assessments indicate that there are several areas at risk of landslides, affecting the safety and daily lives of the local people.

With the participation of numerous local forces and the support of the Border Guard and the Police, on July 21st, Na Meo commune constructed a temporary shelter to meet the needs of people seeking temporary refuge in case of landslides.

On the night of July 21st, based on the complex developments of typhoon number 3 and warnings from specialized agencies, Na Meo commune mobilized and organized the evacuation of several households to ensure their safety.

In Quy Loc commune, in addition to maintaining 24/7 patrols in all villages, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have established patrol teams to ensure traffic safety across flooded underpasses at night.

The Ho Vuong commune police force conducts patrols in villages and hamlets to promptly respond to and assist people in case of incidents.

Thanh Hoa province has been responding to natural disasters decisively with the involvement of the entire political system. On the night of July 21st, all 166 communes and wards of the province mobilized maximum personnel, armed forces, and residents to be on duty 24/7 to promptly handle any emerging situations. Communication systems, storm warning systems, and evacuation plans for people in dangerous areas were all prepared.
