Yen My: Implementing the merger of 9 communes and towns to establish 3 communes and 1 town

On November 19, Yen My district held a conference to announce and implement Resolution No. 1248/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units (ADUs) of Hung Yen province in the period of 2023-2025 (Resolution No. 1248). Attending the conference were comrade Pham Van Khue, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board.

At the conference, delegates listened to the announcement and implementation of Resolution No. 1248 and Plan No. 232/KH-BCĐ dated November 13, 2024 of Yen My District People's Committee to implement Resolution No. 1248.

According to Resolution No. 1248, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Yen My district is as follows: Establishing Nguyen Van Linh commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 3.21 km2, population of 8,927 people of Nghia Hiep commune and the entire natural area of 6.08 km2, population of 8,631 people of Giai Pham commune. After establishment, Nguyen Van Linh commune has a natural area of 9.29 km2 and a population of 17,558 people.

Tan Minh commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 7.72 km2 and the population of 7,777 people of Ly Thuong Kiet commune and the entire natural area of 4.05 km2 and the population of 9,898 people of Tan Viet commune. After establishment, Tan Minh commune had a natural area of 11.77 km2 and a population of 17,675 people.

Establish Viet Yen commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 3.62 km2, population of 6,814 people of Yen Hoa commune; the entire natural area of 3.43 km2, population of 5,544 people of Minh Chau commune and the entire natural area of 2.62 km2, population of 4,875 people of Viet Cuong commune. After establishment, Viet Yen commune has a natural area of 9.67 km2 and a population of 17,233 people.

Merge the entire natural area of 3.41km2 and population of 10,040 people of Trung Hung commune into Yen My town. After merging, Yen My town has a natural area of 7.46km2 and a population of 27,617 people.

After the arrangement, Yen My district has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 11 communes and 1 town.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Pham Van Khue, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, requested that in the coming time, the Party Committees and authorities at the district and grassroots levels should step up information and propaganda work so that cadres, party members and people can clearly understand and continue to agree to implement Resolution No. 1248; carry out tasks to ensure progress; complete plans to arrange cadres, civil servants and non-professional workers in communes and towns subject to the arrangement of administrative units; hand over and receive all relevant documents and files to ensure compliance with regulations; arrange, manage and use headquarters and public assets after the arrangement in accordance with regulations.
