According to Mr. Duc, the Ministry of Health has recently issued professional guidelines, including prescription and nutritional guidelines. Hospital directors are responsible for managing the organization of supply and use in hospitals and with patients.

The head of the hospital must be responsible for thoroughly implementing regulations on prescribing, selling drugs, and providing services in the hospital.

Regarding the fake milk powder case being investigated by the police, Mr. Duc said that early next week, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management will issue a document to rectify the work of supplying, consulting on prescriptions, and advising patients on milk use in hospitals. The Ministry of Health's viewpoint is to handle it strictly, without forbidden areas, and without covering up if there are violations discovered by the authorities.

Regarding the possibility that hospitals may have accidentally used fake milk, Mr. Duc said that an urgent review is needed. "If this happens, find out when it happened, who it was used for, and make sure to inform patients who have used it. If there are health problems related to using fake products, medical facilities must be responsible for advising and consulting patients to use the products," Mr. Duc added.

Mr. Duc also affirmed that for doctors who prescribe fake milk products or fake drugs, based on regulations, the responsibility of the person who prescribes will be clearly defined. If the prescription is incorrect, depending on the form of handling, it will be administrative or even criminal if the violation is serious and the consequences will be especially serious.

At Bach Mai Hospital, there are about 4,000 inpatients and about 8,000 people coming for examination every day. Hospital Director Dao Xuan Co said that the hospital has checked and found no powdered milk products from companies being investigated for producing and trading fake powdered milk.
