100 OCOP booths associated with the culture of Southern provinces were introduced in Thanh Tri district.

On the evening of October 4th, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the Thanh Tri District People's Committee, organized an event to introduce OCOP products associated with the culture of the Southern provinces. The event was part of a series of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the Liberation of Thanh Tri District (October 6, 1954 - October 6, 2024), and the awarding of the certificate recognizing Thanh Tri District as having achieved advanced new rural standards. Photo: Minh Phu In his opening remarks, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyen Dinh Hoa, stated: Currently, 100% of Hanoi's communes have achieved the new rural standard, 188 communes have achieved the advanced new rural standard, and 76 communes have achieved the model new rural standard. At the district level, 100% of districts have achieved the new rural standard. Notably, on September 30, 2024, Thanh Tri district was recognized by the Government as having achieved the advanced new rural standard in 2023. This is the first district in Hanoi to achieve this title. Implementing the OCOP program, from 2019 to the present, the city has had 2,756 products evaluated and recognized. In 2024, the city will continue to evaluate and classify approximately 500 more products. In addition, Hanoi has 1,350 craft villages and villages with traditional crafts, including 331 traditional craft villages and villages recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee. There are 1,090 active agricultural cooperatives; 1,695 farms; 149 production-consumption linkage chains; over 164 high-tech application models; and more than 13,000 agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products that have been granted traceability codes. The event provides an opportunity for stakeholders, businesses, and production households to strengthen trade connections, promote brands, and facilitate trade, making a practical contribution to rural economic development and the new rural development program in localities. Photo: Minh Phu The event will be held over 5 days (from October 3rd to 7th, 2024) with more than 100 booths and over 1,000 OCOP products and safe agricultural and food products from 36 provinces and cities nationwide, including 17 provinces in the Southern region. The organizers also stated that during the event, there will be evening performances of folk art, harmonizing with the celebratory atmosphere of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi; the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Thanh Tri District; the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; and especially the fact that Thanh Tri District achieved advanced new rural standards in 2023. Photo: Minh Phu Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee Nguyen Huy Toan said: Implementing the OCOP Program, the district now has 129 recognized products, including 64 products achieving 4 stars and 65 products achieving 3 stars. In addition, the district has established 4 points for introducing and selling OCOP products. Participating in the event, Thanh Tri district had an exhibition area showcasing OCOP products from the district's traditional craft villages, along with demonstration activities: making banh chung and banh day (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) in Duyen Ha commune; making conical hats in Dai Ang commune; making mooncakes in Lien Ninh commune; rattan and bamboo weaving in Van Phuc commune; and traditional rice wine making in Tam Hiep commune.
