119 works entered the final round of the Journalism Award for the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism

On the afternoon of August 14, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Journalists Association , the final jury of the second national press award "For the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism" met and discussed to select 119 works to propose for awards.

Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Anh Vu said that based on the judging regulations, the subcommittees of the Preliminary Council conducted independent, objective, and transparent assessments; discussed in a focused, thorough, and impartial manner to select the most outstanding press works for the final round.

After 10 days of reviewing, discussing and judging the works, the Preliminary Council selected 119 best works to present to the Final Council, distributed by press type as follows: 27 print newspapers, 26 electronic newspapers, 22 radio broadcasts, 25 television broadcasts, and 19 photojournalism works.

Evaluating the professional quality of this Award, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Final Jury Le Quoc Minh, said that although entering the second award period, the participation of authors, groups of authors, and press agencies was still very large with 920 works participating. That shows the special attention of press agencies to the fields of culture, sports and tourism , contributing to the overall success of the Award.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh also assessed that the themes of this year's entries are diverse and comprehensive; reflecting the orientations and policies of the Party and State in cultural development. The articles also fully address issues from macro issues to issues in daily cultural life, cultural activities, events, sports and tourism. Many articles are suggestive.

This year, the participation of local press agencies was also stronger. Many entries from local press agencies were evaluated as having depth, especially in the field of radio and television. This year's Award even attracted the participation of district-level press agencies.

Meeting and discussion to select 119 works to propose for the award for the cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism

After discussion, the final jury will vote to award prizes in the following categories: print, electronic, radio, television, and photojournalism. In addition, the collective prize will be awarded to 3 press agencies with many works participating in the competition and achieving high results.

It is expected that the winning works will be announced at the second national press award ceremony for the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism, taking place on the evening of August 28 at the Hanoi Opera House.
