Kinhtedothi - Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 1478/QD-TTg to take January 17 every year as " Ben Tre Province Traditional Day".

The Decision takes effect from the date of signing (November 27, 2024).

January 17, 1960 was the day of the uprising of the Ben Tre people. The Dong Khoi movement in Ben Tre opened up a new and promising situation for the revolution in the South, contributing to creating a strategic turning point, bringing the revolution in the South from retreat, from the position of preserving forces to a strategic offensive position, shaking and signaling the collapse of the US-puppet regime.
