Reportedly, whales have been appearing frequently in the Co To sea area over the past four months. Specifically, in July 2023, a pod of 4-5 whales regularly appeared in the area from Ha Mai to Dau Trau. At the end of September 2023, whales again spent an hour feeding in the Co To island area.
According to local authorities and residents, whale sightings were very rare in previous years. However, in 2023, whale pods appeared frequently in this area.

These are favorable conditions for the growth of marine life, especially rare species. It is also a positive result of the vigorous implementation of the "Co To District Free of Plastic Waste" project.
