Farmers in Ky Son commune (Tu Ky) sow winter-spring rice in the rain.

By the end of February 25, Hai Duong had planted 51,373 hectares of winter-spring rice, reaching 96.9% of the plan.

Seven out of 12 localities have completed the planting plan, including districts: Kim Thanh, Gia Loc, Tu Ky, Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang, Hai Duong city and Chi Linh city.

Binh Giang and Nam Sach districts have also planted 99.2 - 99.5% of the area; Thanh Ha district has planted 97.2%, Cam Giang district has planted 89.5%. Kinh Mon town alone has only planted 78.6% of the plan because the 2024 winter onion and garlic harvest season just ended not long ago.

Hai Duong farmers began planting winter-spring rice after Tet At Ty. Since then, despite two severe cold spells and some damaging cold spells, there has been no damage to any newly planted rice area. The planting progress has been relatively fast due to the mechanization of many stages. Water resources for production are generally more favorable than last year.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested the remaining localities to continue to speed up the planting progress and finish within the allowed time frame (before February 28).
