In the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, Le Nguyen Thinh, a former student of class 12A4, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted ( Nghe An ), achieved impressive scores.

With 38.75 points (10 points for math, 9.25 points for literature, 9.75 points for chemistry and physics each), Le Nguyen Thinh is the runner-up in this year's national high school graduation exam, and also the valedictorian of Nghe An province. This young man is also in the top 3 candidates with the highest A00 score in the country (29.5 points).

According to Le Nguyen Thinh, he was able to accurately calculate his scores for math, physics, and chemistry right after the high school graduation exam ended. The young man also set a clear goal before this exam: to be on the list of students with the highest scores to be recognized and rewarded by the Provincial People's Committee.

However, winning the top prize of the province and the second prize of the country was quite a surprise for Thinh.

What's special is that even though he is a student in a specialized chemistry class, Le Nguyen Thinh's literature exam score made many classmates, including those in block C, admire him.

Thinh said the social essay section was quite strange, different from the types of questions he had practiced before. The male student assessed that his social essay section would not get the high score he expected, but "luck smiled on him", helping him achieve 9.25 points in literature.

According to Ms. Phan Thieu Hoa, homeroom teacher of class 12A4, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Le Nguyen Thinh is intelligent, obedient, hard-working, meticulous and highly determined. He is also always disciplined and follows the teachers' instructions in his studies.

Despite getting very high scores, Le Nguyen Thinh also felt a bit regretful when he did not get a perfect score in his major subject.

“I re-examined the test three times but still got one question wrong in the physics theory section and one question in the chemistry exercise section. The questions were very easy, but perhaps because I was a bit nervous and worried about the long test, I was a bit subjective when trying to quickly complete the simple questions to focus on the advanced content,” Le Nguyen Thinh shared.

Although he is a chemistry major, Thinh got a perfect score of 10 in math, even though this year's exam was considered quite difficult and highly differentiated. The male student said he finished the exam in 65 minutes and had a bit of difficulty with the probability differentiation question due to the long data. Thinh left this question for last, when he had calmed down, but he was only 50-50 confident.

Le Nguyen Thinh was born into a family of teachers in Kim Lien commune (Nghe An province). From a young age, he had a clear goal in studying. In grade 9, Thinh won second prize in the provincial chemistry competition and was admitted to the specialized chemistry class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

This young man's goal is to join the provincial chemistry team to participate in the national excellent student competition. However, due to a bit of bad luck, even though he won first prize in the recent provincial excellent student competition for grade 12, Thinh missed his goal.

Although he was very disappointed, Le Nguyen Thinh quickly regained his composure and focused on his graduation exam and university entrance exam. He always felt lucky because he had the encouragement of his parents and the support of his teachers during the exam preparation and knowledge systematization process. In addition to mastering the knowledge in the textbooks, he spent a lot of time practicing his test-taking skills.

With clear goals, Thinh built a strict schedule for himself, temporarily put aside his love for online games and social networks, and voluntarily set up a notification mode to monitor the time spent using applications on the Internet...

With this score, Le Nguyen Thinh registered for the talent entrance exam to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, majoring in computer science to realize his dream.
